Post subject: New Adsense/Adwords alternative. Possible heavy-weight?

Hello all,
Has anybody here had a chance to check out Kevin Lam's new Adsense/Adwords alternative?
http://www.fairadnetwork.com - Otherwise known as F.A.N.
Here's a small breakdown from what I saw:
- Publishers get 60% of CPC paid by the Advertiser.
- You can have both Advertiser and Publisher accounts and they are linked for money transfers between both.
- You can earn 8% of any deposits made by any Advertiser you refer to the site
- You can earn $4 for every $50 any publisher you referred earns through publishing ads
- This is neat - Viral Videos. Advertisers can upload ad videos to F.A.N. and the publisher can show it on their site. The visitor can then share this video with friends and/or display it on their own site. Any clicks on the videos are credited to the original publisher that showed the video.
I had learned about FAN through Kevin Lam's forum, http://www.networkersdebut.com/forum/ and was wondering if anybody here had heard about it yet and what you thought about it. Could it possibly be a serious alternative to the other Contextual Ad companies?
In Kevin's forum, he mentions he's finalizing a deal with one of eBay's biggest competitors, uBid.com. Looks to be a pretty big effort to make this into a big competitor with Adsense/Adwords to me.
What do you think?

How can a contender have less than 500 members? How can a contender have nearly non existant traffic?
Adsense and YPN both bring something to the table that no other program (perhaps MSN) can - and that is search mindshare. Millions and millions of users each day.
Think of it this way - there is a company in "Somewheresville Arkansas" and they make the best tasting Pizza on the planet. In fact it's so good that every person that has ever tried it says "This is the best damn pizza on the planet".
And it only costs $9 a pie.
So who is going to take that pizza company Statewide, Nationwide, Worldwide?
You see the point? Being a contender involves distribution.
If they figure out how to get their product/service out in front of millions of daily visitors then they will have something. That is going to require a killer business plan and a boatload of Veture Capitol.
Nothing wrong with what they are doing, I didn't look at it very closely - because I don't want to reinvent the wheel, I work with programs I know work and I know will pay. _________________

Hi Guest,
I guess it's a "wait an' see" situation. I figure though, that with Kevin Lam's NetworkersDebut.com web site showing an Alexa rank of 52,108, I'm guessing he knows how to get some traffic.
As it is, even Google's Adsense had no traffic at one time, (Although Google was already huge), so I look at it as getting in at the ground floor of development.
