Another few reasons is that:
1. People don't write enough to keep their readers entertained with new content.
2. People start a blog knowing what to write, but they forget about the marketing part of the blog. If you don't no how to advertise your blog then your content is practically useless and just sits there with no readers.
3. The design of their blog is so basic that it's practically the blogs default design with just a logo change. That doesn't make the blog look unique and people may not use it as often for this purpose.

I do agree as times goes by, people do give up after they've found there is no one interesting to read their blogs or articles. Of course, quality articles do play a part but consider to use another method like putting a video instead of words. People like watching rather than reading. if you go to Alexa, and it is not surprised YouTube listed in top 10 around the world in the most visited website list. hope this helps

Poor content.
Not posting regularly.
Trying to sell in every post.
Giving up.
Trying to be a me to and providing info that has been regurgitated using the content of other poor quality blogs.
