Blogging is useful for SEO.
If you have blog on your domain, you will always have fresh content - SE link this.
If you have blog on another domain, you can get strong backlinks from it. And it is useful for website promoting. Think, if you have a quality blog, witch have 100 visitors a day. You post a review of your website to it and how many visitors will check this website? 50%? More?

I think a blog can generate traffic for a business by providing content that encourages feedback and discussion. I've seen blogs from businesses that had dozens of visitors leaving comments every day. Without the blogs, I would've never heard of some of these businesses.

Firstly, as already said, the blog provides constant fresh content that the search engines will pick up on. If its hosted off your site, then you can make sure to include links back to your main site-potentially increasing the PR.

I have been blogging for quite some time now and for me to increase traffic to your blog is to have it optimized according to SE's algorithm and doing some link building techniques will definitely help a lot

I've think of this before but never really put in
effort into it.
Well, looks like I'll have to come up with a plan for
this.
By the way, do you think that not doing SEO for our
blog is a waste? I mean, since we're going to be
posting frequently, it is better to post our article
with keyword? Or we just write without considering
anything about keyword?

I agree having a blog on a different server can have some backlinking benefit.
But I find it is the direct traffic from my blogs to my sites that actually is significant

I've been using them since I started and they were responsible for thousands of dollars of commissions.
Why blogs are so great?
Because SEs like fresh content, bust most importantly because you can get the first pages for an affiliate product in a matter of minutes.
I did that to promote Allan Gardyne's Speed PPC, and it worked great.
And if your blog is good, visitors will trust you and you'll end up making more money.

I also outsource from time to time, otherwise I won't have any offline life...
