Post subject: What have you done now, Debs?
|
|
|
All of a sudden, as Debs guided p2parchive in niche-making, I was thinking: Can I myself do another niche? AND I CAN!
I came to remember a keyword way out of my own niche, that i found during keyword search in the SBI Manager: Demand: 166.000 Supply: 25.000.
And, I am familiar with the subject (a nature thing, not software).
So, Debs, I have gone into niche-mode, thanks to you. Will this work never end????
Just proves that business opportunities lurk around everywhere, just look and think (or vice versa) _________________ DatabaseDesigner

You are welcome, I think. You may not thank me later as you become one of those that bury themselves in the ever increasing high of creating new sites

As long as you get each site to a good productivity point before starting a new one... the addiction is good.
If you keep starting new sites before completing one... the addiction is bad...
And by complete, I mean good content and links... and traffic is building. No site is ever complete... _________________ Eric D. Burdo

You don't have to resist it completely... just resist spending all your time on the new site when you old site is not ready.
And only you can make those deciscions. You might want to spend a day writing down some of your ideas for the new site, then shelve it until you are ready for it... _________________ Eric D. Burdo

You can control how much time a site will take to maintain to a large degree though, depending on how you set it up.
If you go the low maintenence route, multiple sites are much easier to manage.
Just a thought,

Post subject: Take Notes!
|
|
|
I have a tendency to put too many "coals in the fire" and because I also used "disappearing ink" often, I have switched to making notes and lists. In the Summer, I had a holiday website in mind but wasn't ready for it. I had many ideas so I began a pile of notes for the site, while focusing on my other main sites.
When the time came to put up the site, I was surprised that I had more than half of the initial site all on paper. After finding my graphics and layout, the pages went up quickly and the site was pubished within 24 hours. It must have been complete enough, because I got a DMOZ listing within days. Of course, I kept adding to it.
I always find it useful to keep a pen and paper handy in my car so that when I'm waiting in line somewhere, or have to go in a place where I have to wait, I can brainstorm and get the ideas or articles on paper before the thought leaves me.
Now I have another niche in mind, but am not focused on that yet, however, I will soon begin a pile of papers that will lead me to getting the site up.

iWillow,
It seems you are like me - too many ideas, too little time...
It's the people who can't come up with ideas, I have trouble understanding!
Cheers,

Yes, I agree, Charlie. I just spent Monday with a one-day subscription to Wordtracker, and that day I came up with huge and great keyword lists for 14 very different new site ideas! I need to clone myself to get my sites produced as fast as my ideas flow!
Tuesday morning I picked one of the site ideas to do a James Martell style site, which is the first time I've delved into his methods. By this morning (Friday), I've signed up for the appropriate merchants, gotten my domain name registered, downloaded my template, got my webhosting set up, and finished my home page and 7 product pages complete with merchant links. Now I need to work on my 50 - 150 content articles, which I expect to complete within two weeks since they don't need to be longer than 300 words and I write fast when I'm in the groove.
Basically, my whole week has been dedicated to this while the dishes and laundry pile up to the ceiling, but when you stay focused like that, you can really make some progress! |

Is it just me, or do others find this level of efficiency terrifying, too?
Cheers,
