I checked out the salesletter for Joel Comm's InstantAdsenseTemplates.com and was surprised to find a heapful of well-designed templates ranging from HTML to XsitePro to PhpBB. He covered all the bases so to speak.

Kudos to Joel Comm for packaging a magnificent product and I'm very sure it will sell out fast at $197 but I did not buy them. Why?

What good are the templates if there are no UNIQUE contents? Forget about using PLR articles -- it's the same as going to GoArticles.com or EzineArticles.com and downloading the articles. I'll bet that those buying PLR articles are not making much money compared to the PLR sellers.

It's useful as a headstart for novices as professional looking websites monetize better (or is it?) but ultimately it's UNIQUE contents and TRAFFIC that's most important.

One of the best Adsense sites I've came across happens to be AskTheBuilder.com. Solid, UNIQUE contents and huge TRAFFIC (about 500,000 unique visitor per month).

Like what I've said before, the real winners of the Adsense gold rush are the Adsense tool makers i.e those gurus teaching others how to profit from Adsense. Imagine selling $197 packages to 2,000 'students' - $394,000 for 2-3 days 'work'. How long do you think an average 'student' would take to earn $394K from Adsense given that eCPM has come down a lot?

A year from now, more than 95% will earn less than $100 per month using Joel Comm's templates. In the mean time, Joel Comm is laughing all the way to the bank right now.

i have to agree with you.

Why do we need so many templates? I personally custom made my templates by outsourcing freelancers, 5 templates for 50 bucks. I have been using those templates for over two years. The templates are converting well so why change? If its aint broken dont fix it!

The new package is a great package for adsense beginners. A great startup package i must say. Dont make him sound so bad, Joel Comm is a good guy, he is just making a living like we are Razz

i still remember last year, i promoted a product as an affiliate and made a great sum of money from it. The problem is that the seller didnt keep his promise of regular upgrades. He basically disappeared after 3 months. So in this case i was laughing to the bank but i didnt feel good.

it sure feels like evil money :p

its just part of internet marketing. have to live with it.

I purchased the templates and liked them. I could've built them my self but time is better spent on marketing.

As with most solutions it still comes down to traffic.
If you can't drive traffic to the site you won't make money. A good way to drive traffic is through the use of articles and free classified ads.

This is the best free way I've found to drive traffic.

Any comments?

You have a good point, but you're exaggerating ridiculously.

You've conveniently forgotten to take into account all Joel's costs. He has a partner he's working with on this. Bang. That's half maybe of the revenue gone. (I don't know what the split is.) He has affiliates to pay. Bang, the money has been halved again.

So instead of $400,000 in your example, we're down to $100,000 and we haven't taken into account whatever costs he faced in producing all the content in a huge package. Not to mention all the time involved, producing the content, recruiting, helping, encouraging and liaising with affiliates, agonizing over the sales letter (or hiring someone to write) it, producing videos...

Two to three days work? Not on this planet.

You have a good point. An affiliate merchant can make a lot of money in a short time. But it's also a lot of work. It's not magic.

Hi Allan,

I was talking about revenues, not profits.

But it's looks much easier to generate $394K in revenues selling Adsense templates rather than earning $394K in revenues from Adsense itself.

Adsense is damn hard work.

3 school of thoughts about Adsense:
1) own hundreds and thousand of sites with each generating a dollar per day. (100 sites each generating only $1 per day is equivalent to $100 per day!)

2) own few sites with many pages, fully optimized for SE. Constantly updated with fresh and genuine contents. Purely white hat.

3) combine the power of Adwords / PPC and Adsense. You should have come across site like this. You just need one page with one article optimize for high paying keywords. Then you drive instant traffic to the page using PPC or Adwords by choosing less pricey keywords.

Well, all 3 works. Below are the summary:
1) Large initial outlay to invest on domain names and hosting. Involve sophisticated softwares - traffic hurricane, niche monster, hypervre etc. can be automated. Results is fast. Little work on your part.

2) Smaller startup cost. Plenty of work to update with new and unique content. But can use PLR sites to help out. Some part can be automated - RSS etc. Results is slow. Heavy work on your part. But income last longer.

3) start up cost is moderate. Results is the fastest. More work in experimenting keywords than building the site. Have to constantly drive traffic to the site.

Enjoy!
