Post subject: creating more links
|
|
|
Hi everyone,
I am new to the forums. Have read a number of the articles and topics on this site already. My question is one that I`m sure you`ve heard before-How can we attract more traffic-via incoming links?
I already have created a blog, written articles, post to forums, and continue to create (valuable-I hope) content periodically.
What is a typical regime for doing these things?
Should one post articles everyday? To how many directories is "enough". Most of my sites content is up already-what I add periodically-is it enough? I realize these questions are vague, but to have an idea if I am even close to doing enough(ie-an article several times a month) or not even close to doing enough in these areas would be helpful. Thank you. |

If the things you're doing are working well, then you're doing enough. If they're not working well, then you're not doing enough.
In an ideal world, you might want to add three articles a day - but that would be far too challenging a task for most affiliates.
A totally different way to tackle the challenge is to concentrate on getting high-quality links from high quality sites, and you might spend weeks, months or years developing friendships which eventually result in high-quality links to your site.
I recommend you examine your own strengths and interests and develop link-collecting methods which build on your own strengths.
Out of all the ways to build a business, which ways best suit you?
Have you checked the 77 tips in my free report for ideas? Perhaps there are some in there you could try. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Has the traffic from the search engines been strong for you? If so, you're most likely doing enough. I think it's really a matter of how much free time you have. If you have enough time to submit articles daily then that is certainly a good thing (can't hurt). Also, you seem to be on the right track with blogging and content updates. One thing to keep in mind is links are one element of SEO. Make sure you apply the on-page optimizations to your site as well. Most of all... you need to have patience. I've communicated with many webmasters who seen traffic increase slowly (but steadily) as the months go by. So, continue to update your site and do what you listed and I thiink you'll be in good shape. _________________ Avalon

Bill Cosby was aked why he kept working when he had an estimate worth of 80 million dollars. He started naming all his family members and how they needed what he provided.
So your question can truly only be answered by you. And the best way to do that is to look at what you are doing from an overall perspective.
Write down all your goals. How many hours you want to work. What amount of income you want to make. When do you plan to be mortgage and debt free.
Once you really have established what "sucess means to you" then you'll know if you have done enough. Because your question really has no answer. Some people are satisfied with 8 to 5 jobs, some people are not. Some people are filthy stinkin rich and work 12 hour days until they drop.
The real key to doing anything that is repetitive in nature is to be consistant. Link building is not a pleasant taks. And it's not a balanced task. You may get as much traffic from a single good link as 100 average links. And the amount of effort to get each link differs.
If you are not tracking your incoming traffic start. Figure out where they are coming from and where they are landing.
I allocate different amounts of time to different tasks each day. I read and study at least 10 hours a week. This is a business where keeping current is paramount.
And also keep in mind the efforts you put forth today may not put dollars in your pockets for weeks to months. But if you make a plan, stick to it consitently you will be on your way. _________________

Hey thanks Allan, Avalon, and quest for your answers.
I guess you kinda want to have a plan, yet know one really knows what may or may not work for them until they actually try it. My pages ranked well when I began, have been up and down somewhat; but my visitor count has never been where it should. Its funny how some sites have very little "valuable content", yet they seem to get loads of visitors(sometimes without ranking well too)-I`m a newbie so I will keep plugging-I`m dogged determined to do this for a living!
PS-It is great to have my first question here answered by "The Man-Allan"-Glad to hear you are doing well these days. I enjoy the site-lots of helpful info. |

Allan's new book on traffic is very good. Read it for sure. Try and think of ways that you can get viral marketing to create one way backlinks.
Article directories where your article could be picked up and published, Ezine Directories could land an article you write in an ezine read by 10,000 people who might take it and post it in their online newsletter that gets archived for years. Blog posts that are fed into an RSS feed could be viral.
Certainly things like writing an eBook and giving it away and on and on we go. Think like this. Would you rather try and get 100 people to trade links or would you rather write one artice, submit it one time and have it picked up and posted online by 100 different people.
Time management is certainly a key to being successful in getting more one way backlinks. Just one thought anyway! _________________ Jeff Schuman
