Just two quick questions guys;
Who owns your website domain name and the details for technical contact etc when you build a site via SBI?
If after a year you are happy with your website is it possible to move the site away from SBI as you could with a self built site?
Thanks in advance! |

You own the domain in all respects.
Yes, you could move your site away. Why anyone would want to is a whole other question entirely.
The website itself would really be a minor point. The traffic driven to it is the most important. That targeted traffic is the joy of SBI. _________________ Take The "Tech" Out Of Website Creation

Be careful though, it'll be cumbersome to move it if you use the Block Build-It feature. I had to manually visit and save over 100 pages from an SBI site I just moved.
SBI's great ( I have 2 other site's that use it) however I wanted to do more dynamic things with my SBI site that they simply aren't set up to handle. _________________ Robert

Robert, you should have used one of the many free site grabbers to get your pages; it would have been done in minutes

I have many sites, some years old, some weeks old. Likewise, traffic is across the board, too. Sorry, that's as specific as I can get.

I presume you mean 'unhappy'? This is almost text book. How does that phrase go...
A bad workman always blames his tools.
After to using SBI for close to two years I am still of the mind that the range of tools SBI offers is unmatched ANYWHERE and would never even consider changing back to old school hosting.
I have had other non-SBI sites and blogs that have fallen by the wayside simply because they took too much time to maintain and didn't have tools such as Brainstorm It!, Blog It! and some of the other modules that make my life so much easier. _________________ Declan O'Reilly
