->Word of mouth
->Forums (about your niche website)
->Traffic Exchanges
->Blogs

The site looked nice and Hybrids are really catching on here in the States. You have a ton of options to advertise. ap11 covered the most popular methods. Your best way to get traffic will always be through search engines (if you can place in the top 1 -2 pages for popular keywords). Also, never hurts to try offline marketing (small ad with your site URL in an auto mag).

Some good ways to promote a site is:
Use press releases
Write articles about your sites topic
Do link exchanges
etc...
There are hundreds of different ways.

Submit articles to directories (with good keyword research), write blog post on your subject, and spend some times in forum in your niche.
Great formula working for me.

Website promotion has two sides: from the one hand it is rather interesting and captivating process, and from the other, it will take you much time and effort, and FEELING for the most effective promotion way exactly for your website.
There are lots of promotion tips you have been given here, and I’d like to tell you a few, which I have used or still working on them:
•For the best search engine ranking there should be unique key words. You may find lots of tips through the Internet on keyword optimization and the art of choosing the best keywords and keyphrases. It is not connected with promotion, but it should be taken into account as good search ranking will bring much benefits.
•You have a great reliable site, with informative content! So add something else which will attract more traffic to your website, something that would be for FREE and make your visitors come to your website again and again.
•It will be also a good idea to provide newsletters.
•You have so much interesting on your website! Let’s speak about this and many other things! Start a forum and “glue” your users to your website 
P.S.: and please, do not make a mistake as I did once, be careful with shady submitting services, which may take your money and bring you spam.

Hi HybridCars,
I've just visited your site and notice that you still have zero PR and zero Alexa ranking. Your site looks just great, but believe you're getting little natural traffic - SE.
I suggest you to registered a new domain name preferably with a dot com extension. Move your site there and you'll see some change.
But keep on adding new contents and incoming links HybridCars. Don't forget to build a blog as well.
