Post subject: Affiliate Cookies

Hi,
i wanted to buy a piece of software and i know 2 website are being an affiliates to it. Let's call it website A and webaite B. I click website A first and a few days later i found out that website B is also an affiliates to this piece of software.
Let's say i go direct to the merchant's website of that software and purchase it. Who will get the comission? Website A or B. Before my purchase, i went to website A first and provided the cookie in my computer of both website A and B has not expired.
Hope anyone can help.
Thank you

In most circumstances, the last cookie will have overwritten the first, and will be the referrer. Keep in mind, on affiliate sites, you don't get a cookie, you need to click through the link to the merchants site to actually receive the cookie with referrer id in it.
Also, for things like lifetime referrer offered by some merchants (such as Sitesell), a purchase may need to be made (or other more involved action) in order to set the cookie. If you had already been cookied for that merchant on a prior purchase or action, neither site A nor Site B will get the referral.
Hope this helps,

Yes, the permanent cookie, that will link all future purchases from that customer to you, but the temporary cookie (for people who aren't yet customers), will be set in the normal way - overwriting any previous temporary cookie.
Sorry to jump in, but I've learnt from experience that one question about Sitesell's tracking can often lead to another. Hope I guessed right, this time.
Cheers,
