May I ask if all of these blogs are hosted right the Blogger system? When this happened to me I started investigating how it happens and to what types of blogs. I have never spammed anything. I have only posted my own articles or articles of others following all rules based on Google webmaster standards.
I learned that if someone else spams your blog in the comment section, you can lose your blog. If you click publish to frequently or to closely together (time wise) you can lose your blog. And, yes, according to Blogger there have been instances where the blog is earmarked for deletion and unless an actual person reviews the blog and puts it back up online - it is down for good.
The safeguard system on Blogger does not include people until after the blog is down, offline. At some point after it is down, a person is supposed to check them and reinstate them if it was done in error. If it doesn't get manually checked, it does not go back up online.
When I started asking long time bloggers, some hadn't had it done to them personally but knew people that had lost their blogs - the blogs were legit thus... the advice is blog on Blogger but host them on your own site because from what I was able to find out - the spam program will not delete blogs hosted elsewhere.
One person's experience does not indicate how it is for all. _________________ Tammy Ames

a great way to start a solid foundation is by creating 4 or 5 serious blogs in related sub niches on blogger and blog until you have a fairly descent amount of traffic and pr .
after a year or so , you get your own domain and you create a website with the same niche ( main keyword ) , then you link all your blogs to it ....and i can guarantee your site will become a gold mine .
during the year of blogging You'll be making money , its free and most of all youll become an marketing expert because blogging is the best way to learn and test ....
It was the best move ive ever done ... it worked extremely well for me .....
after a while you start to know what works .... |

Tammy, all my deleted blogs were on Blogger's own subdomains. I was unable at first to figure out how to get them set up as my own domain's subdomains. (I got it figured out now.)
domenict, that is pretty much what I was attempting to do with 7 of my 8 blogs. Tammy's post reminds me that I think what I did "wrong" was post too much, too fast. I set all 8 of those blogs up all in one day.
BUT, when they all came tumbling down, the eighth blog was deleted as well, one that was set up at the same time but more as a personal hobby site. I added links to a couple affiliate products, but mostly I posted because I loved talking about the subject (which was baby-related stuff).
I was only approached by a human regarding two of my deleted blogs. I just scrapped the whole lot. Water under the bridge by that point (months after they were deleted).
I believe that it is really more of a backup and hosting issue than a Blogger issue. I just accept that they operate the way they operate, appreciate the free and easy to use system and carry on. _________________ Chocolate makes you a better affiliate marketer. |

I use blogger and wordpress, different tools but the end result is the same, a blog.
One thing I do notice is due to the massive amount of blog spamming Google has a different attitude about blogger now. Can anyone blame them?
If the thought of deleted blogs keeps you awake nights, use wordpress. I've never had a blogger blog deleted, and I made all kinds of no-no mistakes my first few months.
Use blogger for what it is, a free tool. Don't expect them to care about your problems. You aren't paying blogger anything. _________________ Your Free Pass to the Members-only ListBuild List

This week was though for me!
I never used any black hat thing, and never spammed (I am posting 1 post everyday), and Google Told me that 2 of my blogs are locked and waiting for review.
I think they are upgrading their system.
I hope I will get my blogs back.
Hopefully, they are still in the Google Search Results.
Did this happen to anyone of you, and they reinstated your blogs?
My blogs are my main source of traffic, along with articles.

some of my blogs have over 1000 pages ....and posting every single day ..
i even have some blogs that are packed with affiliate links .....
im pretty sure you violated the rules somehow , i really doubt that blogger just cancels your blogs for nothing unless there was a glitch in their system and unforunatly you were the victim ... but i doubt it . |

Definitely wordpress - hosted on your own domain. I used blogger initially, as it was easy, and I was put off Wordpress as people said it was a bit complicated.
Then all my blogs got delisted! I have no idea why, as they weren't spammy or anything. So, I've just began switching each one over to Wordpress and it is so easy. Choose one of the hosts that Wordpress recommends, because they have a one Wordpress installation feature. Once you've installed it - it's almost as easy to use as Blogger but with more features. And, if you get stuck, a quick search in Wordpress support or on Google will soon have you on track. _________________ Richer Brat

abou talhah - If you read back through this thread you will see that some of us have had the same experience as you, and some of us have had their blogs reinstated. I would suggest a switch to Wordpress.
Wordpress has two distinct advantages. It is Open Source, which means that not only is it free, but users are welcome to contribute to it creatively; therefore there is 1) a much larger selection of templates and other tools, and 2) there is terrific forum, Wikipedia, and FAQ support.
When you have a question for Google/Blogger, you can wait for months for an answer. Within Wordpress support, you may find your question has already been answered.
Just remember that, no matter what your decision, Google SEARCH is your friend. Sometimes forums and FAQs, even within Wordpress, can be confusing. I always start with a Google search for my answers.
Remember that when you ask for an answer on a forum, responses are often anecdotal - "I've never had a problem" can be comforting, but it doesn't solve the problems of all of us that HAVE had our blogs deleted. We are treated like numbers by Google; my blog is one of millions, I can't expect personal service, at least not without a long wait.
"Take a number and take a seat" can mean a long wait with Google... _________________ Chocolate makes you a better affiliate marketer. |

blogger is way better for search engines because they have static pages ,wordpress has dynamic pages which do not rank very well in search engines ...
for me , blogger is the best service for "free" blogging ...
been blogging full time for three years , i tried them all ... Had the most success with blogger . |

For ease of management, integration with adsense and simplicity of interface choose blogger. For customization, lots of third party tools, wider community support and advanced tools, choose wordpress. _________________ 16 Year old kid From Australia Reveals...

For me, investing time in any host who might arbitrarily delete your site without warning or explanation is just nuts.
My time, your time, is surely worth much more than $20/mo.
But, there's a silver lining. If someone is considering any free host, that should set off alarm bells about the prospects for their business.
Choosing a free host seems like a sign that one has low confidence and expectations for their enterprise, and thus is unlikely to get very far.
Imho, I'd stop, and fix this problem first, before doing anything else.
That said, this forum is "Blogging For Beginners" so I could see opening an account on a free host for a week, just to get the feel of what blogging is all about.
After a week, sit down and have a serious conversation with yourself.
Is this a business, or not?
If not, there sure are an awful lot of things to do that might be more fun than sitting inside typing up lots of pages few people will ever read. _________________ Free Forum And Ezine Hosting

Regardless of using Blogger or not, I would highly recommend having your own domain name, and redirecting it to your blogger blog. This is both more effective from an SEO standpoint and also if Blogger does "delete" your blog, then simply point your domain someplace else. _________________ Dave Oliver - AMWSO Affiliate Program Management Team

Hey Dave, that's a good suggestion. If one is determined to use Blogger, that's the way to do it.
But still, if Blogger axes your site, you're still faced with the job of shopping for a new host, learning their system, rebuilding your site, etc.
I'm not on a campaign against Blogger, I can see many valid uses for it. High school kids uploading photos of last week's party, grandma blogging about the weeds in her garden, and so on.
Just not a good place to run a business , that's all, no free host is. _________________ Free Forum And Ezine Hosting

My experience with Blogger and Wordpress as Dave suggests, hosting on your own domain, is that Blogger is much much easier to use. Since Wordpress updated, I'm constantly having problems with "things not working properly".
I'm no geek. (Stop laughing, Phil!) Right now, for example, I'm having difficulty with a large cat trying to cidd;e cuddle on my shoulder while I type...
I'm having trouble adding something to a sidebar; I'm really tired of searching for a template that doesn't snafu because of the update...
Now to get this cat off me...
As long as you don't try any "blogging for dollars" tips on your blog, Blogger seems to do fine.
My cat needs me....ciao...
Edit: annoying cat is gone. I bought an ebook, thankfully I've forgotten it's name and the name of it's author. I had developed a marketing strategy that included a website on my own domain as the hub of my "promotional wheel"; the idea was that 8 blogs focused on 8 different related keywords were going to send traffic to the hub. Fair enough.
Then I incorporated techniques that made this ebook guru rich. Although Blogger would not explain to me exactly what got my sites deleted, I suspect that these tactics were considered spamming, even though the ebook author said he had used them successfully with Blogger blogs.
I have no problem with the judgment, just with the abruptness and lack of communication. If your blog is straightforward, non-spammy, and unique, mainly noncommercial, and you need the simplicity of a Blogger subdomain, go for it.
Being a non-techie, putting a blog on my own domain the first time was not easy. I would suggest doing that with a Wordpress blog because you get a detailed tutorial. If you're still lost, you have forums. The odds are more in your favor for success.
But then again, I've found an even better way... _________________ Chocolate makes you a better affiliate marketer. |
