Post subject: Making the blog site part of an existing site ?
|

Hello everyone,
I got this far. I downloaded and installed wordpress, uploaded the files onto my web server and even made some test blog postings.
Now, I'm wondering how can I make the blog postings become part of an existing website ?
In another word, rather than use the templates shown in wordpress. How can I make the blogs become part of an existing website ? In another word, make the blogs use the templates of an existing website (ie. in that case, meaning mine) ? If you know what I'm asking in here ?
Thanks! _________________ Daniel Morris

You need to have a template designed for wordpress that looks like your existing site.
Research how to alter/build wordpress templates.
Or pay someone to do it. _________________ Cheers,

Hello Daniel,
I have recently started on my blog and I am using wordpress.
It is quite easy if you know where to make changes.
I did some searches on google and found some info here and some info there and poking around in some of the files, I managed to change wordpress to look like I wanted.
The main file to make changes to is header.php
Every template you can use with wordpress has a header.php
The header.php I used is located at root\wp-content\themes\default
The images I use is uploaded to the image folder on root and not the image folder at wp-content\themes\default
Install wordpress on your host, then find header.php and make small changes. Then go and reload your page. Make the changes bigger as you go. It is allways smart to back up any files you are going to change.
If you want to make it even easier altering php files, install php, apache and mysql on your own pc. I have done that and I only need to upload files that I want to use online.
I hope you got some idea on how to do this, and hopefully your not more confused
Let me know how your doing and don't hesitate asking.

Your blog can be a part of your site, no problem with that. Customizing it is the problem, or not. If you get someone like me to do it. Check out my blogs in my signature, if you like them maybe I will be able to help you out. _________________ 75GB Bandwidth, 5GB, 99.99% Uptime, Unlimited Addons, cPanel - $9.95mo
