Holding a contest is a good way to promote the products. For this matter, what sort of contest do you think is best suited for a company that sells services?

Make some service packages free.

This adds credibility to your service plus keeps people focused on your service.

Contests are tricky though... especially since the laws of each country and state (is the US) varies in regards to contests. Even if it's a "Freebie", you still need to make sure you have yourself covered legally. I had looked into the various possibilites of contests in the past and always nixed the ideas based on the complicated laws (not to mention it was a really hassle to set-up).

The plan is something like this: We will be requesting our clients to write a testimonial focused on any of the topics like the benefits that our company gave to them or their relationship or working bond with our agent, etc. Afterwhich, we will be choosing the best testimonial and the price would be free webmastering services for a month or so.

How's that guys?

Not bad, but how can they write testimonial without actually having used the service?

Let me repeat what I said freetraff:

So more likely, the satisfied clients are the ones eligble to participate in this contest.

How's that?

Then no problems. But contest for your own clients is good, still what puzzled me (and that's why I made a mistake) is that it's great when the contest is open for simple site visitors. They can take part, and this works as extra power to convert targeted visitors into loyal customers.

On the rest - perfect - and flawless.

Yes. You can give just about anything as a prize. You just need to make sure that it's something your readers want.

You'd need to be very specific, saying exactly what you were offering. "Webmastering" is a bit vague.

You are right! Webmastering services is kinda vague and unbelievable. How about link building, site promotion and a little off-site SEO? Is that practical now?

I think it's obvious why you find yourself get kicked out to wherever you join. That's because you advertise whenever it's not necessary. Is spamming your cup of tea? Wink
