Post subject: new to affiliate sites -- can you include actual products?
|
|
|
I'm tossing around several ideas for content-rich minisites, but in many cases my affiliate site might be more attractive with actual product listings and images from the seller site.
Do sellers let you show a selection of their actual products and prices? My brief look at cj.com shows a lot of companies that (seemingly) limit you to banners or text links. Do you need to work out special arrangements to bring up, say, a specific vase or CD player image on your site?
thanks! |

That depends on the company. Some companies allow you to link to specific items... some companies only let you use the banners and generic links.
I would try to find the companies that allow you to link to specific items, since you can integrate those into your site better... _________________ Eric D. Burdo

I bet if you'd contact the companies that have their affiliate programs in CJ, Linkshare, etc., they'd be more than happy to add individual products. I've done this many a' times and haven't had any troubles. Some sites have taken longer to add the products up, but I have yet anyone tell me flat out "No."
Hope that helps! _________________ Robert

I'm not sure as I have not used this affiliate program before, but I think that Amazon lets you use their product logos/listings on your site. _________________ Affiliate Programs Directory - Over 2,000 Programs

One reason merchants don't like affiliates quoting prices is in case they change.
This could be overcome with some sort of syndicated content, but it's still a common excuse.
