Has anyone tried the new Tag and Ping system?

Apparently its the new replacement for Blog and Ping.

I am just getting going with it. Looks interesting.
Time will tell if it is sustainable
I bought an ebook called Tag and ping primer. A no bs rundown of the basics.

as for Tag and Ping, I would really like to find out what he is calling "Tag"

I haven't read the Tag and Ping product yet, but AFAIK, the "tag" part of the process refers to "tagging" your site with tags from social bookmarking sites. You can read more about Technorati's tagging process at http://technorati.com/tags/

Mostly it is how to improve your ctr. There is a bit on creating traffic. Nothing that was new to me.
Just wanted to add this about tag and ping. It has been just over 4 days since I tagged my first post in a brand new blog. Today I am listed in Google, Yahoo and MSN. It is the fastest I have been listed in g and yahoo anyway.

I thought so. Most of these adsense products are on improving CTR not getting traffic.
This tag and ping approach seems to make sense, however its hard to get tags to show updates of your blog. At least in my case

It works!!! I had tonnes of spiders coming and visiting my site recently and listing it in Google, MSN and Yahoo

I have noticed some good benefits for a site of mine as well.
This site was only promoted with tag and ping. After 2 months it has PR3, 15 Google back links and received a steady stream of traffic.
I never went with the hyped ebook that put tag and ping on the map just the one I mentioned above.

For me, I don't see any improvement in PR.
I am tagging, then pinging technorati, and using social bookmarking sites (the most wanted: del.ici.ous, furl,digg,redditt...).
And I get a lot of traffic.
I like blinklist, because you get your tags in Google search!
Good job with yahoo. I only had one visit to my site through yahoo in 4 months...

Don't waste your money on tag and ping! You can do this for free. This is the big secret the so called guru's don't want you to know about.
First before you decide to write your blog post you should go to Technorati and find some of the popular tags and write posts on these topics.
If you use Blogger.com you can just add this line to the end of every post.
<a href="http://technorati.com/tag/[tagname]" rel="tag">[tagname]</a>
Make sure you replace [tag] with a your relevant keyword.
Your next step now is to ping your tags!

That is all there is to it folks.

Sean Wu's book really created a stir when it launched. I was one of the people who strongly endorsed it to my list - and at the time, I had no results, yet trusted the system would work.
Today, almost 12 weeks after I started using some techniques Sean revealed, the results are impressive. I have pages on directories I've tagged my sites on showing up with high ranking on organic search.
And lest the title be misleading, the real power in the report is NOT just that you should tag-and-ping your blog posts (you should, of course), but is in the section on building 'Authority Site Networks'.
