if you earn just 343 in one year believe me you are doing something seriously wrong ...also learn to think big ... $200 a month is nothing target to earn $20k a month .

yeah almost 10% of affiliates are earning more than $10k .....so you should raise the target because you need huge money to spend leasurable life .

I've found it satisfying to set low goals to start with and when I reach them, reward myself and set a higher goal. I've kept setting higher goals as I've reached my target.
Now I have new goals which include working less while earning more. It's not all about money!
Some people find it impossible to believe deep down that they'll achieve high goals. It depends on the individual. Setting really high goals may work for you.

I keep TRYING to increase my daily goal, but for some reason it gets up to $30 day one month and then drops down to $20 day. This is without me changing a THING and I'm still getting the same average impressions per day and just a slight drop in the average clicks. This is so frustrating to me! How can I maintain a steady amount (or increase it by adding more pages, etc) when I seem to have no control?
The biggest drop this month seems to be the eCPM.....I thought that showed how much advertisers were paying per 1000...is that right? If so, then the ads on my site are paying less and less. Hmmmm...maybe I cut out a high paying advertiser. I block certain ones so they have to come and pay me directly to be on my site instead of paying .10 per click, but maybe I blocked the wrong one. Could that be it? |

I'd say a bigger issue is the summer in the US tends to be a lull for Internet ad spending and traffic, rather than something you did. I've seen decreases in eCPM as well.

You're right Allan, I've read that just even from a very successful success coach, he said for him it didn't work to set big goals, only small goals, that he could believe to achieve. And so he became the big success.
I can also hardly believe in big goals, but otherwise I have found, that dreaming small dreams lead to concentrating on too small goals and concentrating on doing things that make little changes. Whereas big dreams lead to concentrating on things that can make big changes.
So, the essence: Big dreams, big changes, divided in small steps.
For example: Many people concentrate very much on saving money, and spend lots of time and energy in it, reading prospects, comparing prices, making notices, apeaking and thinking about it. But it's very uneffective. And it creates no value. It is much more effective to create calue and get money for it. And it can be much more rewarding that the money alone. So that's the difference between dreaming small and dreaming big. It's about concentrating on what will get bigger results.

I'm sure some people make it work, but for me, Adsense is a hard way to earn real money. Adsense is more the "fun" money, and very inconsistent. I think in most niches you can far outperform it by marketing affiliate products or cultivating an email list.

I enjoy having and striving toward big goals. The secret is to have short and intermediate(read: small and medium size) goals in place to reach the big goals(read: longer term).
The small and medium size goals need to be pointed toward your desired big goal, so when you acheive them (and then, yes, celebrate) it puts you that much closer to your ultimate destination.
Always have that shining star out there in front of you...but you have to get to the moon first.

Without knowing your topic and from what you have described you are probably seeing bad results for 1 or 2 reasons.
1. Lack of traffic
2. Poor placement of Ad Sense,
Good thing for you both are easily fixed.
For traffic I highly recommend you focusing on submitting 1 or more articles per day to article directories for mid to lower competitive keywords in your topic. You will then see these articles rank high in the search engines and drive traffic to your site.
For ad sense placement I have found the below format works well, but there are lots of other suggestions out there that also have very high click thorough.
