Post subject: Focus on making more money with existing traffic.

Hi friend.
Are you too focused on trying to get more and more traffic to your site at the expense of trying to make more money out of your existing traffic?
Well I've been guilty of this for too long. So I've decided to focus on making more money with the traffic I have now - restructuring content, ad placement, making pages more appealing to visitors, testing, and more.
Think I've been neglecting conversion for too long.
Things look promising. If you've been making the same mistakes, I urge you to join me. _________________ Ten Real World Sample Sites |

I have been going back through all the site I have created over the last 2 years. Many were thrown up and left to fend for themselves. Some have perished while others show promise. (one had a pr4 which is amazing since I never promoted it at all)
It is interesting that if you have a tight niche with good traffic 100 uniques a day can do better then 1000 uniques of riff raff traffic.
I guess since all domains experience the sandbox (or whatever) before Big G will let them do well it might be the way to go. Throw a site up and let it age (like wine).
I have to second the "go back and look at what you have got" idea. _________________ Business Owners Guide to Going Online What every business owner needs to know about going online |

Well it depends whether you prefer to do the work up front and build content to attract traffic later, or get the PPC traffic from day one, but know that you'll have to keep managing it forever.
Cheers,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

I think it's a good idea to map all this out before you create your site. How do I want to make money? affiliate marketing, adsense, list building, or selling my own stuff?
How do I want to get traffic to my site? ppc, serps, word of mouth, email lists?
All of these will affect how you design your site. _________________ 100,000 FREE Ebooks - No Email Required! |

your income is directly proposional to how much traffic you have and how much percentage of traffic converts .. so you should equally concentrate on bringing traffic and ways of converstion . _________________ Tips to increase Affiliate earning |

This certainly is the way to go! |
I totally agree with you. However, for the long term getting high ranking can be extremely beneficial. I like to focus on both - search engine optimization and ppc. _________________ Money-Making-Online.net - Huge Google Profits |

It really comes down to an issue of value. People want more value for their money. That's why ebay is so large, people buy on ebay for the value. Your websites & newsletters should continue to give good value. Search engine rankinjg is good but that's a long term goal. You are much more likely to generate more sales from your existing customers if the value is there. Find creative ways of marketing to those people over and over.
run a contest
give a coupon
tell them to refer a friend for a discount
Honestly,
99% of the sites I own I never bother with search engine submission because there are so many other ways of building traffic with more targeted visitors. _________________ Do you believe you have what it takes to build an Internet business?
