| Just curious what is considered good CTR. Been using adsense for the first time for the last 2 days getting [DELETED - go easy on the Adsense stats until you check what you are allowed to publish without possible penalty - Moderator] CTR is that good or average? |

Double-digit figures.
Please don't use this forum to break the AdSense rules you agreed to when you joined the program. I don't want to be booted out of AdSense. _________________ Allan Gardyne

I'm sorry Alan, I had no idea,
Inexcusable not to RTFM about something so important. Valuable lesson learnt- no matter how many 'tick this box to show you agree to the terms of service' always RTFM.
Again my apologies and thankyou for reminding me of that vitally important step never to be overlooked

right double digits should be considered as good CTR. However, I do hear about someone getting > 20% CTR. _________________ Adsense Tips |

I am still shooting for double digit CTR on a consistent basis.
Is anybody willing to share how this is done?
Can it be done witha site with good content that doesn't make people want to leave? _________________ 100,000 FREE Ebooks - No Email Required! |

Hi hadden
The fewer places you give the visitor to click, the better the odds of an AdSense ad getting clicked. If you've got a dozen ways for the visitor to get off your page, what are the odds that an Adsense ad will be clicked? Not very good.

Yes, very simple pages which give the visitor few options work well.
Google has a lot of good advice here:
https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html
Google has seen millions of ads served and knows better than anyone else what works best, yet I'm continually surprised by website owners who haven't carefully studied what Google says.
By the way, don't look at the way we use AdSense on AssociatePrograms.com for ideas on the best ways to use AdSense. This site aims to generate affiliate commissions more than AdSense revenue
Also, the pages tend to be too cluttered for optimum AdSense revenue. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Still, the best thing to promote your website is promoting and driving a huge traffic to your website if you have adsense. _________________ Jack--
