|

I've read lots of conflicting information as to whether or not to submit to search engines. Some say not to bother, because if your site has good, relevant content, the search engines will find you. Others say that submitting is a good thing.
So, which is it? To submit, or not to submit? Is anyone finding it to be advantageous to submit? Or not?
Thanks for reading.

If your using a blog, and it has the ability to Ping, then find a good list of sites to ping, and don't worry about submitting your blog to the search engines. _________________ Eric D. Burdo |

It's worth using pingomatic for letting it know you've updated your blog. But, I wouldn't worry too much about listing your new blog on search engines. MSN will actually pick it up within a couple of days without you listing it at all. _________________ Richer Brat

It's good idea to submit in google. But richerbrat was right, don't worry too much. MSN and yahoo does so.
I used pingomatic and technorati on my blog. Pinging them is a good way to promote your blog. Wordpress already pinging pingomatic by default. If you're using wordpress, don't worry too much. _________________ Just one word: Try! |

Yeah dont bother submitting your site to search engines. Just go get some good links from other bloggers and also use the ping method as mentioned above.
As soon as you have some links google and the other engines will find you with their search bots through the places you have links.
Try putting your url in your signature to start. _________________ SEO Web Design - Web Design and Web Directory |

I think even for blogs you need to submit your site in search engine preferebly manually. _________________ Micfo International LLC

These days, the SEs will pick up your site although some people say submitting will speed up the process. _________________ 16 Year old kid From Australia Reveals...

I don't feel it is necessary to submit to SE. Like everyone else has said, the SE's will find you pretty easily. It still might be smart to submit your blog to blog directories _________________ Ramblings of an Affiliate Marketer |
