There is yet a nother keyword tool that has recently come on the market. It is called Keywordelite.
Does anyone have an opinion about using it for Adsense keyword research? |

I purchased KW elite last week and have had a few days to toy with it now.
I had a pretty good system down for researching KW's and adsense potential but figured heck if I could automate the process a bit more why not.
NOW THIS IS JUST MY 2 CENTS:
KWelite automates the process of checking ADwords CPC (which equates to a good term for adsense or not). How ever I am not really happy with the performance as an actual Keyword research tool from a niche site developer.
It pulls content from Overture well but the plug in to work with Word Tracker I don't think works as well as it could... I'm going to continue working with Overture, KW discover, and Word Tracker to determine my KW's but KW elite does help determine what sites you could compete for, and if you'll make any money VIA adsense with them.
Cheers,

I don't have any experience with KW elite yet. It's good to know about the ADwords CPC feature.
I have limited experience with Word Tracker, but I'm also interested in a comparison between the different keyword research tools ..KW Discovery vs Word Tracker....or are there better tools to use for keyword research? (Isn't there some kind of keywords analyzer that is stand alone software...or is that the same as KW Discovery?) Which would you recommend?
I've read some reviews, but I would like to have info from someone who has actually used them... |

I have both Adwords Analyzer and KWelite..
Both programs provide similar info about Adwords campaigns...But I will use KWelite more now then adwords analyzer.
Jeff Alderson (creator of Adwords Analyzer) has come out with some great products but he recently did something strange he came out with a product called Competition Equalizer...basically it's better then AWA (adwords equalizer) how ever if you have AWA you more or less have to buy Competition equalizer now... I wasn't keen on that marketing approach but that's just my 2 cents.
On the KW research tools...KW discovery and WT are similar in nature.. If you do a search here on the forum about a year or a little less ago Alan had a report related to this in a news letter the domain review them is
http://www.keywordworkshop.com/
This site should give you enough info for what you want......
Hope this helps.

Jay Stockwell has been frantically busy on a large project and then away at a conference but he's now catching up with updating the keyword tools reviews on KeywordWorkshop. His next report should be out within the next day or two. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Thanks so much for telling me about this, and Allan, thanks for the update also. |

Indeed it is...
But how about adjusting the "recommended for..." pages and the PDF? The PDF is the reference doc - and it's out of date now.
I love the new updates, but like Planet Ocean, you're going to have to keep the book updated too, surely, or else it will just end up being a launch vehicle.
Cheers,

Hi Charlie, Thanks for the tip. Much appreciated. I'll make sure Jay sees it.

If the PDF was abandoned, would that be a problem, do you think? _________________ Allan Gardyne

Well, back with the Planet Ocean analogy...
Compare Planet Ocean's SE offering with Danny Sullivan's Search Engine Watch...
Both offer excellent information, but Danny doesn't seem to offer a regularly updated book (even with the paid service). In other words, it's a hunt to track down info and it's hard to know how recent the material is.
In an area which is changing fast, not only do I like to find updated information, but I like to be reassured when it was last reviewed. I don't reread PO's book every month, but I do once or twice a year. Plus it's nice to know that the rolling monthly updates means there is a current version available whenever I do need it.
Keyword management is a fast changing area, too. For me, an update PDF would be very nice. The question is, as always, am I a significant sample?
Well to cut a long story short...

To be honest, I suspect this isn't going to be as much a problem for lots of people as it is for me. Bearing in mind the effort in regularly creating new PDF updates, how about a compromise... just after major additions to the site?
Basically, if the "best for..." recommendations change that might be a good test as to when a new PDF is warranted. But if you do decide to do PDF updates, please give a quick note saying what has been added since the last version.
Cheers,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."
