This topic came up in a different forum, but I also thought I'd post my related questions here.
If you use Blogger to do your blogs can you put affiliate marketing ads on blogger or is that not allowed on blogger?
Has anyone ever heard of affiliate programs restricting people from posting the affiliate ads on blogger?
Do affiliate programs only let you put their affiliate ads on stand alone domains/websites?
What are other types of advertising (other than google adsense) that you can use on Blogger to generate income?
Are there any types of advertising that is restricted on blogger?
What generates more substantial incomes?

You can... unless the market you are promotin is agaist bloggers term ie. porn or hacking sites

adbrite, clickbank ads, chikita you can almost use anything...There's no restriction as of what I know...

it's hard to answer. I personally find making affiliate income easier than adsense...

I'm a newbie to Blogger but want to tell you what I'm doing. I find a niche for each blog and keep within it. I may advertise a product one day, then write content the next with a banner in relation to the subject of the day.
I try to provide information of interest so blogger will return to my site to see what I have to say next. If you find something you are interested in you can write about it or if you aren't good at writting there are lots of sites you can get free articles to put on your blog. Check out different web sites that have to do with your niche and find a few affiliates that you can use to generate some money on your blog.
One great thing about blogging is that it is free and so are the affiliates so just have fun with it. What do you have to lose?

Building a following is all about letting people know what they can expect, and sticking to it. If variety is what they see and like, they will come to expect that, too.
It can work both ways. Just concentrate on retaining the interest of the people you attract by offering them what they come for.

A friend of mine, who've referred me to join this forum, successfully monetize his website. Blogging doesn't make him a millionaire, but at least, it will cover hosting/domain fees and put extra money on his pocket.
He used Wordpress, joined Adsense and Shareasale. He also made some money from Text Link Ads.
Sometimes, visitors also asking him for a help. Of course, it will put more money into his pocket.

Check with blog to profit and payperpost like program, it will also help you to generate income through your blog.
