I found this one the other day, some really nice pictures too..... sxc.hu
I think the domain is hungarian, but just log in and they give info regarding the use of all the photos in there.

istockphoto isn't free but they are one of the cheapest around starting from as low as $1 a photo.
Some royalty-free photo site that i used often >>
sxc.hu and photorack.net
Sxc.hu is constantly updated with new photos practicaly everyday. As for photorack, it's pretty stagnant now but they have some very awesome stock photos.

You should start a photo website. Buy a bunch of camera gear. Take 1,000's of images. Retouch them, post them, catalog them. And by all means make sure to keep everything up to date.
Then make it Free. Then we could all use the pictures.
I'd like to see a free site where I could download feature length movies as well. I'd like a lot of the movies to be "how to" tutorial instruction. I want to use those free tutorials on some of my websites.
So that is actually a really good idea.

not totally free but about $1 each and the very best selection
