Hi,
Apologies if this has been discussed before, but couldn't find anything after a forum search.
Has any tried offering a desktop application like a calendar or organiser that includes links direct to affiliate merchants' web sites?
I'd like to offer my visitors a free, very functional and useful desktop calendar/organiser. You can open a browser window from within the application and it can be customised to include up to eight buttons that link to web sites. I'm thinking here that one could include some useful links, eg direct to Google and maybe a news or weather site, plus links direct to "affiliate" sites like Amazon, Art.com, Ebay, CB Mall, and maybe a gift/flowers site.
I have no idea of what sort of click-through one could get from this, but if you had a couple of thousand people with the app on their desktop, chances are some would occasionally click through to Amazon or Ebay or Art.com, with any purchases generating affiliate income.
If anyone has tried anything similar or can offer some advice about the viability of this, I'd be delighted.
Just make sure you don't bundle anything with this calander. If you get yourself labled as adware, this calender won't be successful for too long. _________________ Jonathan Lyons | Affiliate Manager www.FluxAds.com | AIM: FluxAds
