Post subject: Click Fraud?
|
|
|
I just started my first adwords campaign last week and in seven days I made 5 sales at 22 dollars each. I thought I was doing ok for my first try at this until yesterday. I had been averaging about 15 clicks a day. Yesterday I had 6 clicks at about 4:00 p.m. central time and then somehow when I checked back at 8:00 p.m. I had 18 clicks and no sales. Then I checked back at 11:00 and I had 25 clicks for the day and no sales. I had been converting a sale at 1:15 which I thought was pretty good. I was making a profit anyway. Do some people click on your ad just to cost you money to try and discourage you, yesterday was very odd. If someone sits there and clicks on your ad several times in a row does it cost you every time or does google only accept one click per day per IP address for the same ad? This would make your click thru rate go up but cost you money in the process. I had never received that many clicks in a day much less a 7 hour window. Is this normal? My ad was average postiion 4.5 . Thanks for your time.

I see changes in my conversions by day of the week and I imagine it's different for each niche. If you're only getting 15 clicks a day and have only gone a week, I'd honestly either increase the number of clicks you're allowing or allow it to run longer before making a judgment call. _________________ Robert

unfortunatly people use certain traffic sites that are geared to exchanging adsense clicks,it may be that your advert was on one of these site.

I believe it is a good idea to turn of the content network. You may get alot of traffic but most of it comes in the form of Adsense traffic which is plagued with click fraud and untargeted traffic.
Hope This Helps

There are services out there that help monitor for click fraud, you may want to look into that. I forget the name of the site that I read about otherwise I would provide a link for that. _________________ Affordable Web Hosting Solutions Soniqhost.com |

You said it yourself... traffic with out sales not worth it...
Two weeks back I got 29 hits from diifrent ips with in 40 minutes. SAME keyword... Refered websites looked like bogus... they just tried to make autohits with different ips...
I stored them in text file and send them to Google click fraud department. They checked it and said those are not accountable...
I then disabled 'Content network'. _________________ Radhika,
