As a publisher and a network, I feel the least you use, the better. I feel it's good to check out as many legitament networks as possible to make sure you are getting the best payouts/creatives possible. But when it comes to keeping track of stats, and revenue, I find it best to limit yourself to 1 or 2. 3 at most. Smile

I do not believe in a need to limit one self but that depends on each individual person.

I am one who loves Excel spreadsheets.

I use spreadsheets for everything and they work great for keeping track of all my network marketing ventures.

If used properly you can make your spreadsheets "talk" to each other so that at years end you already have all your figures for tax time. It is wonderful.

Hey chris.. You gotta share those excel sheets ... Don't keep all the good thigns for yourself Laughing Cool

Yup you are right about using many.. I think it's not about keeping tab on every penny you earn(that's important). Lets say when your site is starting out.. You should consolidate your earnings in 1 network.. I made this mistake when I started out...

I have around $100+ stuck in 5 different merchants.. and the minimum pay out is about 25$ . lol

From a newbie prespective using 1 network is Good and efficient and effective too.

Now if there's Affiliate like Allan. He only needs to worry about keep tab on from where his cheques are coming Smile Cool

As far as my excel spreadsheets go. If anyone is looking to check out some samples I would be more then happy to email samples of what you can do with spreadsheets. Just send me a message with your email address and I can email you a couple quick samples so you can see just what amazing things can be done with them.

FYI I actually taught myself how to do most of what I do on them.

I take spreadsheets I come across and I disect them to figure out how they work then start using the new features I have learned into my spreadsheets I use and create.

I prefer only one or two. I am sticking to CJ and had ever been with Linkshare. Which network or networks are you using?

I think it's a good idea to try out a few different ones to see which one performs best for you.

For starters, try not to consume your site with countless affiliates, especially unrelated ones to the overall concept or content of your site. I made this mistake early on and was recommended not to do this by some savvy marketers and also, believe it or not, by some unique visitors. It makes you appear as a "money grabber" instead of a solid believer or marketer in what your site promotes. 3 or 4 are acceptable but like I said let them be relateable and let them be FREE for the viewer to get involved with if possible. For example, I really like and believe in the Empowerism concept, but some people see the $24.95 and get scared off really quick.

Relateability! and I agree with Flux , Check out the payouts/ creative, don't sell yourself short either way.

Chris, the spreadsheet for accountability seems like a great way to tackle the scattered mess!

Best of Luck,

Storm.

I use several. I keep trying to add new ones, prune off old ones that aren't working. I think you end up with a small number that have offers that work for your site.

When starting out, limiting the number of merchants or products can help you stay focused. But I think diversification is important. Long term my goal is to have many different websites in different niches with different merchants from different networks (plus some managed in-house).

Right now I'm doing pretty well with Clickbank, but what if something happens and they go under a year from now? If all my eggs are in Clickbank's basket, I'm done. But if my eggs are spread all over the place I can survive a few of them breaking.

yes diversification is most important factor i agree.. reasons are as following ..
. you cannot get payment because your merchant expires or leaves network or they may delay your payment to verify if you are obeying there terms . or your cheque may be lost in mail .. so if you are full time affiliate you must join few networks to ensure your timely payment ..
i am currently promoting following 6 networks .. you can find advertisements related to your site if you are associated with big network

How many networks you promote and the products that are contained within them depend from person to person.

If you have an affiliate programs directory then you are likely to promote a large amount of them.

I promote well over 80 affiliate networks and ad networks plus contextual ad networks.

I also promote alot of products from these networks on different sites of mine.

John,

Love your website. Have been thinking about doing something along the same lines as what you have done.

Just a couple of questions if you dont mind as I am still new to all this.

How long did you take to build such a super affiliate website??
What kinda traffic are you getting to your website?

I am only asking becoz I want to know if I should spend time to build a super affiliate website or concentrate on a niche (which is not my kinda thing)

Thanks appreciate your input. If you wish to pm me thats fine too.

Man, the site is huge. How many GB is the website?
Its like Amazon.com without the hassles of an inventory. You are against tough competetion!!lol
