Post subject: Becoming a business

A couple friends and I are thinking about joining forces and becoming a business. So I have a few questions for any of you who are knowledgable in this area.
One of the key things, is the fact that currently, three of us are US citizens, and one person is Canadian. In the future, I could easily see us have another two or three people from other countries join us.
We are planning on selling our own digital goods (ebooks and software) and doing affiliate marketing.
I have done some affiliate marketing already, but only by myself...
So, any help is greatly appreciated...

Not sure what exactly you are looking for. But I found the following two sites very helpful
www.nolo.com
www.irs.gov
Yes the IRS has a lot of useful information on business entities and what legal implications they have, what you need, etc.
Also, visit the Secretary of State's website of the state in which you plan to register your business entity.

From what I have heard, Nevada and Maryland are the two best states to form a corporation, if that is the entity you decide to create. Not just for costs, but also for structure and tax filing requirements. How that would affect non-citizens I don't know, but I do know James Martell (Canadian) created a Nevada corporation for his internet enterprises. He must know something

Thanks for the replies...
I think one of our potential founders is from Baltimore, so the Maryland thing might work out quite well...
And thanks for the www.nolo.com link... I haven't seen that one yet.
I will post some more information as I find it, in case others are looking...
