There are quite a few site that sell ready adsense sites that claim to have 15000 pages on a variety of topics, has anyone bought those site and make money with them ?

I have bought ready made websites... well to make them work you need to change lots of things.... you need to add your own articles. only then they'll work...
I bought 2 sites cuz I did not wanted to create the design from scratch...
There 1 site which I bought is giving me some traffic through google.. and well I havn't made much changes in there... so that surprised me a bit... I am sure if I put couple of hours per week... in a month it'll generate decent income.

Anybody who offers you a site with 15000 pages ... you should run away in my opinion. Usually it is content taken from free articles directories, and you end upo with a site that will never make you money AND that you will never be able to rank well in the search engines.
The other downside is that those articles are not necessarely optimized for specific keywords, so you don't make as much as you could 
But if you buy ready made website and you add your own content to it every month, in the long run, it can help you speed up the process a littl bit.

If anyone is offering to sell you something for next to nothing and telling you you will make a good profit - i would run a mile. If I were selling one of my businesses, I would be looking for at least three times my current years profit. Otherwise it would be like selling the goose that lays the golden eggs - or even worse - eating it. Do yourself a huge favour and build a site with good content - the kind of site you would want to come across yourself.
