This is very unusual... I'd suspect a virus... still: how do you try to copy? Are you using CTRL+C and CTRL+V? Or right-click options? Where are you trying to copy from? Some programs, webpages, documents do not allow any copying function.
Have you tried copying anything else - like writing something in a Word document and trying to paste it in another? Please provide more details.
Oh, and I think that this thread should be moved to the "Do-It-Yourselfers" section... _________________ Prepaid calling cards

i cannot copy anything ..
case for files/folders
when i click on folder/text file and try to copy by right click on crtl+c . it shows copy option . but when i try to paste that folder or text file by watever ctrl+v or mouse . it does not paste file at all .. ...
case for text
again when i try to copy text it shows that it copied ... and no matter whatever i copy when i do on crtl+v or paste it shows >Hello! _________________ Tips to increase Affiliate earning |

Yup, pretty sure it's a virus... Run a virus scan and hopefully you'll find the "intruder". Otherwise, you might have to format your hard drive or reinstall windows or go to a specialist...
I can't be 100% sure of this, but it's my best guess at the moment. _________________ Prepaid calling cards

It was most likely a virus. However, that problem is not always caused by a virus. Sometimes just rebooting your machine will allow you to cut-n-paste again.
If you had already tried to reboot and still had the problem, you can bet it was a virus. If you only rebooted after installing your anti virus from download.com, and before you ran the scan, you can't be sure it was a virus.
The main thing is, it is fixed. If it happens again, just try rebooting first. I have an older machine (virus free) and the same thing happens about 1-2 times a month. I reboot and it works just fine again.

....unless the last thing you pasted was "Hello". If it did not "paste" and showed that "message" instead, then it definitely was a virus.

I'm using F-Prot and have it scheduled to do daily scans. _________________ Allan Gardyne
