hi allen ,

i was wondering why you dont have a section only for bloggers , there are many people who like to blog and seek for advice .....

theres blog posts scattered all over your forum , i think it would be a good idea to make a different section .....

Good idea! Thanks.

How much interest is there? How many of you want a new section on blogs?

A section on blogs might be a good idea as long as the focus is on affiliate marketing.

I'd read and comment. Blogs are just a different style of content site (different writing style). There are some tips to get a blog going that might be useful for folks to share too.

I think it would be worth a shot in the "Web Site Creation and Maintenance" section along with SBI, Martell, etc.

Id make a whole different section because you have the traffic already and you can attract a whole different breed of websters and it can only compliment your forum . example :

The Blogging Community

Blogging for beginners
advice and tips on how to start your own blog , which blog hosts are best , wordpress ,blogger . html tips etc.....bla bla

Promoting your blog
ways on how to get visitors and promote your blog
rss feeds ..technorati ...search engines ...etc ---bla bla

Monetizing your Blog
chitika , adsense affiliate marketing, blog ads, tips and advice ....etc

these are just examples , i would do a search on wordtracker for keywords because you can increase your traffic significatly

give it time and youll have a good little blog forum happening .....im sure

Allen if you dont try youll never know , i was sceptical about blogs at the beginning and now i have 12 blogs and im a full time blogger making money

And guess what , im a web designer go figure . Blogs are so conveniant and are gaining extreme popularity and on top of that they are free .

good luck ! ...domenic

I'd agree with Mike on this... You can set up a section like he described. I am also full time blogger from last 18 months or so...

The only issue is scattering items that are relevant to both blogs and traditional web sites with too many categories to post in. It'll be interesting to see how Allan implements it.

Blogs are not web sites , many people use them to compliment their web site . Today its part of internet marketing and affiliate marketing .

any web master will tell you that blogging should be part of your plan if you want to make money and attract visitors .

its a great way to get more visitors , and interact with your visitors .

Heres an example of how blogs are used :

Instead of working for nothing exchanging links all day , which i personally find a waiste of precious time .

Why not start a blog ( something useful for you and your readers ) intergrate it with your web site and get quality one way links to your web site or blog by submitting your feeds to feed directories . (ITS working well for me )

And if you play it smart your blog can become a different traffic generator on its own . ( in my case they overpowered my web sites becoming money machines )

there are lots of advanced tips for blogging , but their are lots of beginners who want to know

-how to add pictures to your blog ,

-how to change the template ( html advice )

-how to add rss feeds to your own yahoo ,google, and msn account to get indexed immediatly

-how to add rss feeds to your blog

-best ways to add adsense

-what is a blog

-how to add your blog to your ftp server so it becomes a part of your web site

-how to burn a feed

-switching domains "blabla.blogspot.com" to "www.blabla.com" how do you do it ?

-affiliate links are you allowed ? does it pay ?

-how to link back to your web site without getting penalized

i can go on for ever ...

Blogging is a powerful tool for marketing and publishers who like to write on a daily basis without pazzing around with web design

Thanks to everyone for the useful tips. Much appreciated!

Blogs are not web sites...

I'm curious. Why do say that? They look like websites to me. They have an URL and web pages. Like websites, they can have their own domain name, or be part of someone else's domain name. They're run by software which makes adding content simple, but some websites do that, too, with a content management system. I reckon they're a kind of website. Smile

I think we'll start cautiously, with one small section and see how much interest there is. If there's lots of interest, it can grow.

yes of course they are web sites , what i really meant is that blogs and web sites are different concepts from my experience .

with blogs you have a more personal relationship with your viewers , its an ongoing process whereas your viewers are actually making your web site (blog) by posting good conversations and comments like were doing now .

you have people subscribing to your feeds every day . What Do you do ? How do you keep the ball rolling ? When do you post ?

The time you post can be critcal because every time you post you get a huge stream of traffic unlike a web site whereas you can post whenever you like .

its a whole different marketing game, because you have to focus on staying on that particular niche and coming up with new stuff on a daily and weekly basis . ( im talking about busy blogs )

I did not have this experience with my sites . Even though i had busy sites before , i never felt the need to write more articles than i had with blogs .

as my blog grew , there was many questions that i had to figure out on my own that are not in your traditional web site marketing book , and that is why i suggested a forum section for bloggers .

yes , its a good idea to start cautiously ... i will also drop by once and a while im sure i can help or learn ..............domenic
