Greetings. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share where they have had success promoting their Affiliate Programs to gain new Affiliates?

I would like to substantially grow our program's participation, but, I need a little guidance as to where the best places are to reach affiliates.

Take care,

Brian

Hi Brian,

Try this software - Super Affiliates Generator.

This software not only finds you affilates, but it finds the affiliates that make money.

As you may know, unfortunatly, 90% of the affiliates doesn't make money...

Hello Brian.

Considering the competition you are up against, I think you are going to need Lifetime Customer Program of the Century...

Can you attract any big(gish) players by giving them everything for free and an extremely generous 2 tier program - on both levels.

Think what's in it for them? In this case "why should I gamble on this new program when I am more than happy with the long running competition?" I suggest "bribery" on a large scale, via personalised 1-1 contact.

I wouldn't hold out much hope on the directories in this case.

Hope this helps,
Charlie.

consider using a multi tier affiliate program and let your affiliates recruit other affiliates for you...

Hi Brian,
I too am in your situation. The first step to growing your affiliate base is to run your program through one of the larger networks such as CJ, BeFree of Shareasale. For small businesses Shareasale is the best value. My experience is with sharesale for my eSupportGroups website and with them you can expect to get approx 80-100 affiliates right off the bat... however only a few will produce sizeable results. After that you must take control of the advertising of your program. There are numerous forums you can advertise on to find affiliates such as http://www.geekvillage.com or http://www.abestweb.com.

In the premier issue of Revenue Magazine there was an article about guerrilla marketing for your affiliate program. This means placing you name everywhere your customer will be looking so he sees your name in various places. This is truely effective marketing. For example, in your case I assume you are trying to market a web hosting affiliate program for AssortedInternet. When I think of web hosting affiliate programs I think of iPowWeb because I see them everywhere and I know they pay $65 per customer. You need to get the "Assorted Internet Associate Program" everywhere you can: in your posts, in your ads, when I do a search for web hosting i need to see "Assorted Internet". The easiest way to do this on a budget is on forums such as here and GeekVillage that allow sig files where you can advertise your program. However you also need to back it up with even more channels of advertising so when I see the name "Assorted Internet" in two different places I really remember it. When I read about web hosting or perl scripting and I see a response from "Assorted Internet" it reinforces in my mind how legitimate "Assorted Internet" is. This is the most important barrier to overcome when I decide I am going to try out a new program.
