Hey all ,

This is a newbie starting out to establish a good network of content sites. I expect a few ideas / suggestions from you all .

My basic doubt is if i add on one article per day on my site ( keyword targeted articles ) will i rank well in SEs ( low competition though ) ?

Here , I can hire a good writer who can make good quality Articles on any topic for about 200$/ month .. for this price i can expect around 100 articles. That d be enough to feed some 3-6 sites.

My confusion is, to rank well in SEs, should i go for " Highy bidded" keywords on google ( Adsense will be my only revenue source).. Or a niche where the competition is low.

Also if i submit my articles ( my original ) to article directories will this help in my SEO ?

Am a complete newbie , pls offer your advice.

Others may disagree with me, so please chime in if you do, but I would start by going for the "low hanging fruit", in other words the keyword phrases where there is lower competition. To start I would suggest a site of at least 50 pages optimized for different keywords and phrases, all with a good linking structure (all linking back to the home page and site map).

The site map is essential, in order to get all the article pages indexed, though it may take time, especially in Google, even if you do it right. Every page in your site, including the home page and all the article pages, should point to the site map.

Then I'd take some of your better articles (or separate ones), revise it a bit so your own article page isn't duplicate content, and submit them to the top article directories. Vary the links in the resource bos, some should go to your home page, some to lower level pages, mix it up, that should help getting the spiders coming.

After you get some traffic, I would then add pages going after keywords with more competition.

However, I would suggest you rethink the thought about AdSense being your only revenue source. Google TOS states that your page should have a purpose other than ad revenue. So I would try to find some affiliate programs within your niche, or if it's product oriented, you can certainly use amazon.com or eBay to link to their pages. If it's information oriented, maybe some Clickbank eBooks would give your pages some other purpose in life.
