When you write an article where do you put the focus :
1. Marketing - writing a temptimg article and encouraging the reader to click on your web site link.
2. SEO - focus on using as much keywords as possible - using key words on the title and on the link to your site

Paton,
I'm assuming you're reffering to writing an article to submit to article directories etc.?
If so I focus on providing relevant info to position myself as an expert in the particular field, then place the link at the bottom in my sig explaining that for more info etc. etc. Writing for KW density and SEO for this purpose..is important as well but I do this more to get the incoming links then anything.
If you're talking about articles for your site...then unless you have fantastic ranking and PR already I'd always focus on the releveant content reflecting good SEO. |

Put one keyword and/or an enthusiastic title
and
two keywords in your article text
and
Tempting resourcebox with link to your website.
(In resourcebox and article text,. I always put direct urls because if publishers publish the article in text, its very difficult to format those herf tags. Its just to make easy for article publishers...) _________________ Radhika,

Personally, I vote to focus on the marketing.
Write a great article and people will click through to your site.
I always put 2 links in my resource box and try to use anchor text instead of just a straight url for better SEO. Also it's good if you vary the anchor text.
If your article gets picked up by a popular site you might be surprised at the traffic you get. I have a couple of sites that send me 10 or so visitors a day just from 1 article. Now imagine if I could get the same from 100 articles - or 100 sites - or 100 articles on 100 sites..... _________________ Lee

Thank you LeeD, radhikaand ihenman
I will go on focusing on both marketing and SEO - I think this is the best option. _________________ Paton
