Hi all,

I'm running the European affiliate programme for a large publishing company based in the south of England. I think I am doing everything right, suggesting relevant titles for affiliates to either link to via subject page or individually via product link. Our income from this ventue so far is less than favourable. Recruitment seems to be picking up as does click through, but these are just not being converted into sales. Any advice you guys have got would really be appreciated. My website is at www.wileyeurope.com

My thanks in advance

Hi Martin.

First thing I would do is add the words "Join our affiliate program" in text somewhere on your page. Nowhere do the words "affiliate program" appear in text on your pages. I know that when I search for new affilaite programs to join I use a search engine to search on my relevant topic plus the term "affiliate" or "affiliate program". And if I know of sites that are relevant to the subject matter and I think they might have an affiliate program, I go to their home pages and search for the word "affiliate".

Next I would build a page giving affiliates advice on how to become successful affiliates. (I don't know if you're already doing this.)
Give out information similar to what can be found in Ken Evoy's
Affiliate Masters Course and The SBI! Action Guide ebooks. Those are free and can be downloaded here:
http://freetrial.sitesell.com/sitesell-downloads.html
In fact, you might want to consider linking to this site and advise your affiliates to read at least the Affiliate Masters Course. These courses are free because their purpose is to boost SBI (Site Build It) sales, but Affiliate Masters Course is applicable to people not using SBI as swell.

Regards,
Yaron
