|
|
I was wondering why my traffic on one of my sites took such a big hit last week;traffic is down approx. 90%. today I discovered that since about 7 weeks my 1 year old PR4 site is not being spidered by Googlebot anymore. I post an article to the site every other day, but they are not being indexed anymore. As a result my site now must look stale to Google.
All pages older than 7 weeks are still properly indexed, including their pagerank.
Now 10 to 7 weeks ago I was having holidays, where I uploaded one page every week in an internet cafe, instead of the usual every other day from home.
My other 2 sites are very similar sites and went through the same but they are still visited by Google every other day.
Anyone any ideas as to why this can happen and how to solve it? _________________ Gnoes |

So many other factors, hard to say without actually taking a look and doing a "background" check. Obviously, continue doing what you're doing, as well as getting more inbound links to you site. _________________ 2009 Insider Secrets

I received an email from someone I am swapping links with, and they said "Google has changed its algorythm and now removes sites from its search results when they have exchanged links with sites that are not in EXACTLY the same category.
To prevent being from blacklisted in Google, it is imperative that we remove our link to you and that your remove your link to us!
Note that Google is updating its results this week and failure to remove these links immediately will likely mean not showing up in Google for AT LEAST the next 4 months!"
Im not sure if this is valid, but it might give you a starting point. _________________ Ken Hodgert

I've checked this theory now with one of my websites that has links from sites with inrelative content and it is getting googlebot visited and indexed on a weekly basis, so I don't believe it is true. _________________ Dondor,

You can find out if googlebot is coming to your site by checking your logfiles or using a statsprogram like AWStats.
I don't think googlebot stopped coming to your site because you didn't update it more than once a week for a while. I go months without updating sites sometimes. More likely you have tripped some kind of filter in google's algorythm and they have chosen to stop indexing you. I would send an email to google and ask them why they are not indexing you anymore. _________________ Oops, did I say that outloud? Sorry.

Generally, googlebot with follow any links from another site to yours, even if it's different topics. They'll even index your site.
But if that link is really on a much different topic, it's not going to count much to raise your site in the SERP.
Atleast that's what I've observed. _________________ Robert
