Why yahoo is tracking IP's of its users

Whether it's legal or not, I wouldn't waste my time with this. Seriously, if you have free time to do this, you aren't doing the right things for your business.

And, most chat rooms would consider it "spam". They track your IP in case you abuse the system. Then they can block your IP.
