Post subject: Google Adsense Ads and Your Site
|
|
|
Today, it seems like all the gurus are talking about how you can make tremendous money with Google Adsense. Likewise, it seems you can't go to a site without being battered with Google Adsense ads. Unfortunately, in their desperate attempt to make money, most home based business owners put their Google Ad Sense Ads right near the top of their home page. WHAT A TURN OFF! If you are going to use Google Adsense Ads, "weave" them into your content...don't "billboard" them and hit your viewer in the face with them the minute they arrive on your site. If they are woven within your content rich text, viewers are more likely to accept this form of advertsing and click on it...and respect you a little more as a home based business owner.

Jim,
Very good point, I can see where you're coming from.
But most developers follow the Google hot zone recommendations, and that of all the gurus who have tested the most profitable spot to post the ads. And that's the large rectangle above the fold in top middle.
Of course, most sites these days are being developed purely for AdSense revenue. So I suspect most site owners don't care about what the visitor thinks, just hoping they click as soon as the page loads halfway. _________________ Dennis, MDM Sports

I think you are right Dennis. I just come from the school that your products take center stage over your ads....Looks like for a lot of people their ads are their "products".

Hi Guys
I have to disagree with this theory or logic. If I find a site that doesn't have a product I am looking for but it is in the adsense on top of the page I will click it because it helps me the end user. Sure the scraper sites suck I hate them too. I am sure google will clean that up as time goes by.
What I hate is when you go to a site and the logo takes up half the screen and forces you to scroll down to read the page. I click off them asap. Dont get me started on music playing either lol |

That's one way of thinking. I know another line of thinking by some of these "Adsense Gurus": Build sites that look compeletely ugly, with the only outbound links as Adsense. The point isn't to have a pretty design with nicely woven adsense links, but a disaster design with only one alternative...to click out of it via adsense.
You take your pick. Both work for the gaining adsense clicks, but which one works for search engines? I've done my testing...I'll leave that up to you. _________________ 2009 Insider Secrets

You've hit the nail on the head there...
Eggs and baskets spring to mind. The problem is, Google has one hand on the basket... so what happens if they pull hard in a direction you don't like?

Oh go on... give us a clue...
Is it something to do with clicking back to the SERPs page?
Cheers,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."
