My site went live last Friday and I submitted it in for goggle search engine plus I signed up for google adsense on Monday.

Adsense went live yesterday on my affiliate site and by yesterday evening I received $20.00, today so far nothing. I have not gotten much traffic since the site is not indexed yet, so I am very puzzled by where the clicks through came from?

Has anyone experienced the same thing that you get a small payment the first day perhaps due to adsense staff checking the links and then nothing after that?

No. Did you tell anyone about your site and how AdSense works and they may have thought they were doing you a favor by clicking on the AdSense ads on your site?

You need to be very careful about discussing any stats on Adsense, including earnings. It is specifically stated in the Terms of Service and FAQ that revealing stats, or earnings, would make you subject to removal from the program.

It is quite common to have days with great fluctuations in the stats and earnings. If you told anyone about the site, and Adsense, or decide to tell someone, please be sure and tell them NOT to click the ads unless they are very interested in the offering.

Fraudulent clicks, including those that come quickly one after the other from the same IP, will also make you subject to removal from the program.

If you are removed, you lose all earnings to date and unpaid, regardless of the amount of fraudulent clicks.

It drives my curiosity when creditloans said that he earned $20 first day, but his site is so new and not many visitors and that it even get listed in Google. How can he do that?

He didn't say it was listed in Google, only that it was submitted.

Hi all, thanks for the great feedback. I will not discuss actual earnings anymore since it is prohibited by adsense. Well, I didn't earned any $ from adsense the second day my site went live, I didn't tell anyone about adsense nor about my site. I think it was probably affiliate partners checking my site and clicked on adsense, since I applied to over 50 affilites on Commission Junction and I think I somehow got lucky on the 1st day.

What is the timeframe to have google index my site? do I really need to wait 6-8 weeks? I am currently working on building link popularity and adding more pages to my site.

Thanks everyone, I am new at this and I really appreciate all your willingness to help and inputs.

Getting listed in Google could take anywhere from 2 days to 2 months. Don't fret over it. You are doing the right thing, building more content and getting links exchanged. Both of which will help tremendously.

Hi Debs, thanks for your encouragment, really appreciate it. My goal is $3000/month so $100/day in the next 6 months, I know it is probably a very lofty goal, but I am committed to make it in the affiliate marketing space.

What is the best way to start making $, I don't want to wait for google to index my site, that would take too long, plus without top 10 positions, I probably would not get enough traffic from search engines to get 1000 unique visitors/day, I factor about 1% conversion rate and my affiliate commission is about $10/per lead.

I've doing both adsense and adwords both about 3 days now, not much happening. I have signed up with Overture and will try that out today. Adwords is a little too expensive for my keywords and I will lose money to get top spots with a 1% conversion rate.

I know this is a loaded question, if you care to enlighten and share your experiences, that would be much apprecaited.

He meant to type that into Google and change the "yoursite" to your domain. This brings up pages with your domain in them, or linked to your domain depending on which search you use.

That is certainly an ambitious goal for a new site. Realistically you are going to need a very good plan to achieve it.

Anything's possible, but is this realistic? It's good to be ambitious (and your goal is specific), but setting your sights too high can be a bad thing, also. Better to aim lower and surpass your goals, perhaps. This way you are more encouraged on an on-going basis. You can always keep raising them.

The task you are setting yourself would be a challenge for most people. Do you have experience or a very strong strategy? Are you working full time on this? Yours is a competitive niche, and you are going to need some excellent ideas to make a splash.

To be honest, I just don't think this is a realistic goal for affiliate revenues from one site if you are a relative newbie relying on free advice. Very few of the people "advising" you will be able to this themselves, let alone tell you how.

Having said that, if you are the sort of person who really is driven enough, go ahead and prove me wrong. Smile

All the best,
Charlie.

I agree with Charlie.

$3,000/month is by no means impossible. Many, many people have pulled it off.

However....

Please don't be disappointed if your site doesn't get there. Once you have the formula for making sales online, you can repeat the process until you achieve your goals.

Gary (Speedguide) builds multiple sites with the goal being that they earn $300-$1000 per month. So 10 total sites will earn him a very nice income.

My three sites average about $250/month each. They are *very* tightly focused and small (they are all 6-8 pages), but I still expect they will eventually reach that $300 minimum that Gary speaks of. My newer sites that I'm working on are a bit broader, but not much. My goals for these sites is $500/month.

Charlie doesn't discuss his earnings online, but if I were to hazard a guess, I imagine that his income is spread over multiple sites as well. Wink

Best of luck to you! Just keep at it, no matter what!

~Mike
