Hi, folks! I stumbled across this forum a few weeks ago, and have been visiting ever since---thank you for all the great information and help that is here!
I'm not new to the Internet, but I am fairly new to doing business online. A year or so ago, I ran across one of Mike McGroarty's sites while I was doing a Google search for something else. I took his course, bought his book, and instantly became fascinated with the possibilities!
During this time I've been reading/studying/learning as much as possible. I've bought my share of e-books, and signed up for "zillions" of free courses and e-zines---some helpful, some not so, but from each one of them I've learned something more to expand my knowledge.
All the different "pieces" are suddenly starting to come together and make sense to me. Every day I'm excited about the opportunities and possibilities...I am motivated, and prepared to work as hard as necessary to become successful.
Now, here is my etiquette question: When is it polite to include one's website address in a sig block when posting on discussion boards? Should we wait until we've made a few posts, or include it right away because we've been taught that it's a good way to start "getting traffic"? I tend to wait, but just wondered what the general opinion about this is...
Some forums permit signatures, some don't. This one does as I am sure you have noticed. There are some forums that require you to pay a membership fee, or post X number of times, in order to include a signature.
Always review the posting rules of each particular forum you join, if they don't allow sigs, they will let you know there.
Once you join, if open sigs are allowed, get it going and use it. It helps you, as you said, but it also gives viewers of your posts a base reference to use when viewing your posts. If you ask a question about your site, the url to view it is handy in the sig. You post good information, and someone may want to visit your site and learn more.
Hope this helps,
