Hi,

I am looking into starting a credit card site.

Do you think this market is still profitable?

Give me some feedback, I really need some advice here as to how to go about getting this off the ground.

Your gonna need a lot of content and IBL to compete against veterans in the financial sector.

Honestly, if you haven't succeeded with less popular niches yet, I would put this topic on hold until you've developed your skills more.

I would create a site and then relate credit cards to the site. Make a site about "Widgets" then a page that tells how easy it is to get a NEW WIDGET with a credit card from XYZ (your affiliate)

You can get WIDGETS fast and easy online if you have a credit card from XYZ.

I would think your targeted WIDGET audience might be easier to convice they should check our XYZ credit cards. You capture the audience with your niche and give them a few extras.

I'm afraid I've got to agree. Wink

It's not as if there are many PPC bargains, either. Rolling Eyes

It's true that generalised offers can work, but in this particular case...

Assuming you are targeting (for your widgets site) people who have the ability to pay, they will most likely already have a credit card. How are you going to convince people who already have one to get another?

No, that's not a facetious joke...

I think the phrase "strong offer" will apply here as much as traffic volume. You could test it, but credit cards would always be much lower on my list than everybody's favourite "internet marketing".

With competitive markets, you need to think about opportunities to cross promote or work with your "competitors" in other ways. I can't think of any way with credit cards, but maybe I've limiting myself.

Just my opinion,
Charlie.

If you have a original twist to the cc site, then may be worthwhile, but i agree with those about.

Seek different ways to promote the site... even if your site is not real niche to credit cards and construct a general site... look at profit-pulling ways to market it ... on and offline!!

It's a competitive market, but then everybody has to start from somewhere.

If you think you can make some money from it and you put alot of effort into it then I guess that it can be done.

If you can do something good that the other financial sites are not doing then you may stand out from the growd.

Thanks for the tips guys, I am looking into this option now.
