I have had good luck getting traffic by posting in forums. No sales pitches, just honest contributions with a signature link to one of my sites.
My only problem is finding good forums for various topics. Do any of you know of a list of forums (of all types - I have a dozen sites) somewhere? Thanks for any help,

Just do a search using your main keyword and the word 'forum' and you should find some. For example if your site is about hockey, search for 'hockey forum'.
