I was just posting about maybe outgrowing my hosting provider Westhost. HAH!

Today I upgraded my php and mysql through their control panel. It had been a long day. I was working too much. I had already basically ruined one project through sloppiness so this was a terrible time to take on something complicated. But I did.

I ended up installing the new version of mysql, wiping out the old (planned) but having no backups of my databases (not planned). I had written two copies of backups but both were either unusable or had disappeared.

Many inexpensive hosting providers are not going to back up your mysql, much less frequently, but Westhost restored me every single database as they stood TODAY.

I would have been put back by months if they hadn't saved my butt.
