Post subject: Directory of Ezines Membership Site - Any Comments?

Hello all,
I have been conducting a lot of research setup my affiliate site and promotional campaign (its a lot of work but anything good usually is).
In my research I came across the Directory of Ezine membership website and it sounds like a potentially good site to get effective ezines to take out ads in. They do not have all the ezines out there, just over 1,000, but they mention that they have specific criteria that the ezines must meet, membership, publishing frequency, etc. Also, they provide ad rates for the ezines they list. It sounds like a good deal (spendy) for access to a list of ezines that have good memberships and serious publishers not advertising hawkers.
Does anyone have any comments good or bad regarding their service?
I know that there are many "free" directory of ezines out there. However, I want to find quality ezines to invest in and not some ezine that just started claiming tens to hundreds of thousands of members so they can get your hard earned advertising dollars.

I guess its very difficult to tell which ezine brings you good ROI.
Onetime I put an ad in one small ezine for $20.00. It brings me $60.00. Profit is $40.00
Another time I put an ad in a famous ezine (recommended by one of my friend), I spent $150.00. I followed that clicks. I didn't make any sales at all.
Its hard to answer...May be other experienced members of this forum can tell?

Can anyone that used DOE give any comments because I am also thinking of joining Directory of Ezines, but I am not sure if it's worth it. Thanks.
