Post subject: How Many Pages Do You Need Added Daily To Make $500 Monthly?
|
|
|
Hi All,
I have been bothered by this for sometime now.
My friend who just started online and building his first site has popped a question to me.
And it made me curious myself, so I decided to take it to the pro's.
How many pages do you need to add to your site daily before you can expect to see a return of $500 monthly?
Why am I asking this?
It is because I just launched my new site, and I am only getting steady visitors from MSN.
I am indexed in Google and Yahoo, but my steady flow of traffic comes from MSN, which I just don't understand, but in time I will figure it out.
So, can you please try and guide us in the right direction towards showing exactly what effort one has to insert using Martell's method for gaining grounds in affiliate marketing. _________________ Alex Marlin a.k.a achiever

The question you should ask yourself is how
many pages do I need to put on my site in order
to earn $500 a month.
As a guide people have said on this forum
that each page you add has the potential to earn
$1.00 to $2.00 a month.
So to earn $500 a month you need 250 pages.
Nothing is guaranteed but the more pages you
add the more money you can earn, plus get
more inbound links.
Hope that helps
Jeremy
P.S. I'm adding pages right now, (just taking a break) |

Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for your reply it really does help.
Now, I know 250 pages sounds like a whole load of pages.
So how do we go about filling our site with 500 pages of content? _________________ Alex Marlin a.k.a achiever

I have not yet struck the $500 a month mark with any of my websites. HOWEVER it is interesting to note the results of three of my 10 websites last month:
site 1 ~200 pages: $190
site 2 ~90 pages : $112
site 3 ~40 pages : $106
So I'd say that Jeremy's dead on about the $1-$2 per page earnings. Now, how do you go about looking for 250-500 pages of content?
1. Either you write 10 articles a day for 50 days (or something like that)
2. Or you hire authors to do it for you at about $5 per 300 word page.
I began with method #1 with myu oldest site, now I do #2. It's all about wheteher you have the money or the time. One great thing about hiring authors OTHER than it saves you time, is that you can find authors who are passionate about a topic you know nothing about
Hope that helps,

How much you earn per page will vary hugely depending on the niche you've chosen, and how good you are at identifying high-priced keywords in that particular niche.
It will also depend on how good you are at optimizing pages for search engines, and how many good, related links you have to your site.
Another factor is the anchor text (the clickable words) people use in their links to your site.
Yet another factor is how simple your pages are, and how prominently you've displayed your AdSense ads. If you give people lots of choices, they're less likely to click on the AdSense ads.
As a general goal, here's a very rough rule of thumb. To earn $500 a month, you might need 500 visitors a day.
Before anyone jumps in to argue about that, I hasten to add that it's possible to earn considerably more than $500 a month from that level of traffic, but it's also possible to earn a lot less.
Here's part of an article I wrote on how to boost your AdSense revenue...
The following are hypothetical cases. To earn $1 a day per page, you need, per page...
400 visitors, 5% click-through rate (CTR) and average 5c payout.
Or 200 visitors, 10% CTR and an average 5c payout.
Or 100 visitors, 10% CTR, and an average 10c payout.
Or 100 visitors, 5% CTR, and an average 20c payout.
Or 50 visitors, 10% CTR and 20c average payout.
Or 25 visitors, 20% CTR and 20c average payout.
Or 20 visitors, 10% CTR and 50c average payout.
Or 10 visitors, 20% CTR and 50c average payout.
Or 5 visitors, 20% CTR and $1 average payout.
You need those visitors per page, so we're talking about pageviews here, not unique visitors.
I go into more detail in the article:

Hello Achiever
Re your Goal:
"My goal is very simple: it is to earn an extra $500 Monthly to pay for my son's High School tuition."
I like it...a goal with clear specific outcomes and benefit to all concerned.
What will your goal be once you have achieved this one?
(not that it needs to change).
Be goal driven! |

Hi Cruthin,
Thanks for the kind words.
Well, I do have bigger plans, but for now I want to just keep my eyes focused on just this one goal.
Once I accomplish this goal, I will be more than glad to publish it and let you know. _________________ Alex Marlin a.k.a achiever

Hi, I would like to throw in my goal as well
My goal is to be able to earn $3000 a month online so I don't have to look for a life sucking job after finishing college! I intend to reach this goal before december 2005, though I graduate in one year. Therefore I am more determined than ever to make this happen. Friends can wait, so can vacations, trips, party nights and other distractions. This is my goal and I SHALL achieve it no matter what !!

Update:
Will keep you all posted as to when i am at $500 per month.
So far I mad $15 dollars for this month...
Site just 5 weeks old...
My site has been growing steady in traffic, but I can't say the same for cash growth.
But, I must admit, I only have 50+ pages.
I am adding like 5 pages per week, which isn't much, but that is all I have time for. _________________ Alex Marlin a.k.a achiever

Nice Job Steve... Don't worry I am right behind ya...
Made my first sale today for a subscription... $60, my google adsense is like on the low side... needs much improvements.
Wow, ten pages per day?
What program are you using, I am doing this manually and can add only 3 to 5 pages per week. _________________ Alex Marlin a.k.a achiever

I am finding that I can write two pages a day without pushing it. I wonder what I can really do.
I am thinking that maybe it is time to check into elance and similar.
PPC is also on my mind more and more these days.
I hit about $190 in a month but it dropped to just over $100 when I took a "vacation" for a while. It is increaseing once again. _________________ Bob |

I think it is a question of brute motivation, on my website , it is clear that I make an average of $4 to $5 per page/month. Therefore, I'm very motivated to have at least 500 pages on my site making me a total average revenue per month of $2000-$2500 I work manually too. I wrote my article in MS-Word , create a new page based on my template in Dreamweaver and copy/paste the article , then I upload. Sometimes, I have guest authors, creating content for my site.
If you can hire author, which I m going to start to do this month, you can go even faster in adding new content to your site. But, then you have to factor this in the potential profit of a page. |
