I'm not going ,

But I really doubt James would bother doing it if his income hadnt dropped since Google banned most of his sites.

I got to hand it to him for trying something to rake in a few $ though. If only 20 people attend he will make around 50k. Its $3400 btw.( or $3000 if you refer yourself)

As much as I would like to go, I find it too expensive right now. Kind of ironic the fact that those of us who are getting started and need the seminar the most can't afford it Laughing . Anyway like I already have one successful website I know I can duplicate the results if I just focus and plow through consistently. Then I'll start going to overpriced seminars just for fun Razz

I am going to attend this Boot Camp and it is the first one that I have commited to. I think James is one of the honest hard working site builders that is willing to share his trade sucesses(mind you at a cost).

There are so many scams out there that do not tell you the truth that it takes time and hard work to become successful and this is what James and people like Ken Evoy of SBI do.

I know it is a lot of money but I feel it will be well worth the time and effort to attend. IMO

My thoughts exactly. I also agree somewhat with Fred:

It's hard not to think that the price is motivated strictly by lining his pockets. How nice though that all his super aff former students can go though, really.

I really don't think he needs the money, I think he's making a lot from his sites still, especially with that powerhouse of articles he's got going up constantly... but I do think he wants the money, and that is incredibly high. That's a year of college tuition at a lot of state schools -

I was thinking the same, too... what newbie affiliate maketer can afford that?? I'd be curious to see how many people go...

I realize it is rather expensive but compared to some seminars where you just sit and listen I think a hands on work camp is the way to learn. This is true if you have the main person there presenting and working with you.

If anyone is interested in more info please email me. Thanks

First, this is meant to be an affordable alternative and not a blatant plug for the Content Desk Seminar in New Orleans and my affiliate commission. It does include my affiliate link.
I am aware of the rules of the forum and wished to offer this info only for anyone who wants this inexpensive alternative.
I apologize in advance if this is a violation; it is not meant to be.
September 9-11 in New Orleans, the owners of Content Desk are putting on a great hands on seminar that would greatly enhance your Martell sites.
The focus is on creating content rich sites and monetizing them. Hands on workshops, breakout sessions. Traffic building, niche publishing.
Speakers include: Michael Fortin, Stephen Pierce, Brad Fallon and a whole lot of other quality speakers. This will not be a pitchfest.
I can attest to the quality of programs that the promoters have. I have been a member of Content Desk from the beginning and the tools as well as the help and support from everyone in the forum has been fantastic.
The philosophy is no one gets left behind.
There's also a whole year's free follow up, the sessions are being recorded and I believe we get a copy.
The price is $697; a big discount if you join Content Desk. The link is in my sig.
Here's the link for the New Orleans Seminar. Copy and paste. You will be asked for your name and email to see the info on the seminar.

blackstone, I know you're busy, but please read the forum instructions:
http://www.AssociatePrograms.com/discus/ftopic5289.html

You can click on Profile at the top of the page and create a
signature. That's the ONLY place to put any self-promotional
links or affiliate links.

I'm giving you this tip publicly not to embarrass you, but to
help newcomers to this forum.

You'll find this a friendly, helpful place if you read the forum
instructions and follow them.

Hi, Allan. Thank you for allowing the post to stay. Honestly, it was never meant to be a self promotion but an opportunity for members to look at a low cost alternative.
I apologize again. I enjoy the value here and just wanted to contribute something I know will help.

Bart, you'll have let us know how it goes!

And... not to rub it in cause I know CJU sold out this year - but it's great value for the price of $595. They include (pretty much) all the meals and great social events for networking.

No affiliate plug here Wink (do they even have one?) Just an honest-to-goodness referral for next year.

I think the most expensive part of CJ (for me) is the hotel. It's a five star -and worth it. It's a great location for them to host - excellent facilities for the event. I think they would be hard pressed to find another comperable property for this event.

I met so many intersting affiliates - and affiliate program managers. Creating those connections and developing great open relationships with other like minds - that's worth the price of admission alone. Some gems you meet (you know who you are) can make huge impact on your business!

Are there any Affiliate Conferences in Australia?? Great reason to go down under!

I had thought about attending the boot camp, but decided against it. I somehow object to paying $3,000 to sit and watch how he builds Charles' first site. If he would have had a drawing among those attending and worked on the winner's site, I probably would have attended. After all, his student's are the people who paying him, not Charle Johnson.

While I think James is a great guy, I think it was bad judgement on this one.

If you read some of the fine print, you will notice James is taping the
course for a DVD. This is just a guess but you will probably see it
for sale for $497-$795 range sometime in the new year. I would also
guess those attending might have to sign a waiver of some kind if
their image is being used in the DVD's. This of course is just speculation
but it seems that is what all the latest crazy is. John Reese started it
last year and now others like Jason Potash are doing this as well.

Hello Kleo,

Yes I noticed that - a classic marketing funnel? - all the way from the Buzz, thru e-manuals, DVDs, live seminars.

What if JM's business model (in true e-myth style) was to build a business which could be valued and eventually sold on for a tidy multiple of sales at some point. Lots of measurable multiple streams of income going on, an email list, repeat buyers, and recurring affiliate income.

Maybe on the hush-hush backend he's doing big bucks consultancy for some of the affiliate Advertisers or even large affiliate marketer clients?

If you were in his shoes..what would you do?

I don't know if his internet marketing portion would fit into this; as it's heavily branded around his image and name.

While he could sell his sites, I highly doubt he would do so, as generally the longterm revenue of sites is worth more than any one-off payment he could receive. I believe he's mentioned this in the Buzz a couple times.
