Hi guys,

I've seen a few people lately creating content-based mini sites (and even full-blown content sites) for the sole purpose of providing genuine content (i.e. not for promoting an affiliate program) and using Google AdSense to provide their only source of income.

I'm curious... are there any individuals here who also have web sites which make good money solely from AdSense, as opposed to affiliate programs? Question

Well, with more than 8600 pages indexed by Google Musica Viva isn't exactly a mini-site, but it is a "genuine" content site and yes, I am making a nice secondary income almost exclusively from AdSense.
I am opening a couple of mini-sites as well and expect to finance them with AdSense. I doubt I'll ever make a living out of them though.

I actually believe there are people who can make a living from AdSense if they have web sites with genuine content and targeted traffic. However, I also believe that you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket.

Anyone else here making making money just creating mini-sites (or huge content sites) for Google AdSense?

I have two sites that I use for affiliate marketing. One site was doing well, the other was doing not so well though with high click through rate to the merchants (10%-15%). I know about Adsense the day they launched it. But only a few weeks ago that I put the Adsense on my sites.

I started having the ads on the site that was not converting well with affiliate marketing. Was doing quite well. You could see new clicks by the hour, sometimes in minutes. Seeing this, I added Adsense to the site that was doing well too. I saw a drop in the clickthrough rate to the merchant though. But combining the two sites together for Adsense, I could see a possible income of $500 from Adsense or so for November. And some sales still do come in from affiliate merchants.

BTW, both sites have 15-20 web pages only. Launching two more mini-sites (20-30 web pages) by the end of the month. Wish me luck on that.

And about Adsense, I think Adsense is great. Do you know the feeling when you go and check your affiliate control panel hoping to see a sale or two. Then you started doing that everyday. And most of the times you get frustrated not seeing anything for a week. With Adsense it's a great feeling seeing $10 or so a day.

Hehehe ... just a thought.

Kidino, thank you for replying. I'm glad to hear you're seeing good results from Google AdSense. From what I've read, most people don't see much difference in clickthru's to affiliate links after adding AdSense, but I see you noticed a drop.

Btw, I wish you lots of luck with your new web sites! Very Happy
