OK, now I have to go and find the paperwork again! NetTracker is about the same price, and they seem to be very close in capability. I asked NetTracker for some information and they sent me a document that compared them directly against Urchin that sure made them sound good. Of course, I have not had the chance to get Urchin's version of this or their rebuttal.
There is a Web page here:
http://www.sane.com/products/NetTracker/competitionsoftware.html
that compares them to the "competition".
The "drill down" feature seemed to be a really useful one.
Well, I cleaned my desk last week and now I can't find the paperwork I am looking for... I'll see if I can get them to send it to me again! _________________ Brad Waller | VP, Business and Affiliate Development

Did you write the articles on the site? If yes, I'd say you're doing pretty darn good for a first try.
There is a school of thought that says that people don't really read the Web like they read a book. It's more of a scanning process. With that in mind you might break the paragraphs up in to smaller units, and use more sub headers. I'm trying to remind myself of that as well.
Here's an exercise you might try, if you're not already.
Go sign up for this newsletter (one of my favorites), and get the free Wordtracker tutorial:
http://ez-search-engine-optimization.com/
Once you've read the tutorial a time or two, open a Wordtracker account, and learn how to use the basic features (you don't need to master every feature).
Build a big list of guitar related keywords.
Find a keyword that isn't too competitive. Go to http://prsearch.net and search for some phrases, and find one or two where the highest ranking pages have a low pagerank, like 2.
Build a page around this keyword, and set your goal to rank on the first page of Google/Yahoo results for that keyword.
You'll probably need some incoming links to accomplish this, and you won't master the process on your first try. But when you do master it, you'll be advancing past newbie and on to apprentice.
1. Keywords
2. Articles
3. Links
3 core steps. Keywords is step #1. Now is a good time to master it.
Best of luck Dave and Dave, off to a great start. I used to be a guitar player, so your topic is hooking my interest here. _________________ Free Forum And Ezine Hosting

Yes Phil, we wrote the articles ourselves. It took some time and some research but we wrote the articles between us. Hopefully it gets easier!

We have done this now. I know from reading MYSS that this is the way to write web content but we were just getting used to using SEO Website Builder at the time of writing. We've managed to master it a bit better now. (Would be interested in hearing what you think of our latest effort.)

We have read Dr. Andy's tutorial and have already used Wordtracker already to build our keyword list. We will take your advice on prsearch and keywords, articles, links (it's been very good so far ).
By the way, once a guitar player always a guitar player!

I can sympathize. I seem to find writing Perl programs easier than writing articles. It makes no sense, but so what else is new.

Ah great, I can see I've fallen behind the curve of your project. You guys are full speed ahead, leaving me in the dust, that's good!

Twang!
Here's an idea I don't seem to have the time/energy to pursue. Maybe it will give you article food. How about reviews of homemade music guitar albums amateurs have published on the Net for free in MP3? I'll bet there is a ton of pretty good music out there that is flying way below the radar. Find it, tell us about it.
Here's a submission in the eclectic acoustic oddball genre!

Hi,
Its that time again!
We have updated our blog. It's been a busy week+ trying to get things right. Our site is still not as we would like it but it is getting easier to introduce changes as we become more familiar with the software. Anyway the link to our blog is in the sig below if you are interested..
learn2earn,
You are not interrupting at all. The purpose of this project and the forum is to learn. As you will see from our blog that's what the Mastermind Principle is all about.
Phil,
Thanks for the idea on the home made MP3's. Will give it some thought.

Hi,
Just under two months ago we lauched our project on this forum and with the encouragement, help and support of quite a few people we began the process of building our first content based website.
For those that have taken an interest in our progress I thought I would let you in on some news....
I just did a check and have discovered that all of the pages from our first site are indexed in Google.
Since we just started building our site at the end of June I personally think this is a huge achievement.
I know there is a long way to go but its great to be making some 'visible' progress.
While we have not made any affiliate income yet, we are making a few cents a day from Adsense and hopefully this will build over the coming months as we grow this site and add more pages.
I heard a saying once, "Success is not a destination, its a journey" and right now I am enjoying the journey!
Cheers
