Post subject: Directory Question- Confused?
I want to add directories to 2 of my sites. Basically they would be directories of other sites. An example would be Allans directory or similar.
Are these directoires bascially link directory scripts? Are they looked at as link farms? I'm a little confused by how to accomplish this.
Any suggestions are always appreciated!

There are lots of (free) link directory scripts available that help in managing categories and listings. Of course, you can always hand code a page in HTML if you want. It all depends upon how much functionality you need (and how large you expect the directory to grow). _________________ Are your website promotion efforts Measuring Up? |

Yes, I have found tons of these free link directory scripts. I guess I keep thinking they are only for Link Exchange type uses, but now I'm assuming that they have simple directory uses?

Yes, but I think you will find that if you want to build a quality directory for the long term, you are going to end up either heavily customizing a script or building your own from scratch. All of the major directories have invested a lot of effort in their scripts. _________________ Are your website promotion efforts Measuring Up? |
