Post subject: sick and tired of sbi & james martell

this forum is not like it used to be , 75% of all threads are about james martell or SBI ( who cares ), im sort of fed up of hearing about these 2 methods of so called super affiliate marketing .
we keep on talking about sbi and james martell and they are making all the money , instead we should be helping each other with good solid info , share our experiences , what we did wrong , new ways of getting traffic ....etc.
i dont see james martell or ken envoy sharing their thoughts on this forum ? right now while we talk about their methods we are helping them more instead of helping each other .
this forum is slowly turning out to be a james martell and sbi forum and its really sad .
I come here for some answers and all i see is JM -SBI -JM -SBI -JM -SBI
to be frank i couldnt care less if james martell got banned or not .
In the end its not about james martelL or sbi , its about us and how much money we make for working so hard .
this forum should be about us and how to improve with new strategies NOT about james martell or sbi . _________________ Best Regards Mike

This particular section of the forum? Sure. This one is geared for James Martell. And another section is devoted to SBI. Why shouldn't they be discussed.
You will also find that the most successful of the affiliate marketers don't hang around here much. Debs rarely stops by, Speedguide, and I am sure there are many others. They prefer to spend their time building their business.
For me personally, I spend WAY to much time here, and not enough building my own future... probably why I am not as successful as I could be. _________________ Eric D. Burdo

There are 25 different topics in this forum, a few that don't discuss much, but the rest are availbable to you. If you don't lie Martell or SBI, read the others. SIMPLE solution. I'm not a 100% fan of either of those, although I have both. I read the Martell stuff, it interests me. I seldom read the SBI stuff, it is of less interest.
If you have NO interest, don't read them. _________________ Bob |

Indeed I spend too much time here as well.
Don't get turned off by guru worship, it'll happen in any business venture you do. And rightly so; to an extent it really helps decrease the learning curve.
For example, say you want to become an expert investor. Would you consider it a waste of time to study Warren Buffett, the greatest investor of our time? Of course not, learning his methods can certainly help. Once you get those down, apply your own twists to it.
Same thing for SBI and Martell, they are a great framework to start with. Keep in mind that no guru is a means to an end, ie. don't just follow their method religiously without throwing in your own testing, etc. Eventually you'll come up with your own technique.
Think of it as growing a crystal; if you've done this you'll know what I mean. Growing a crystal in a plain solution is extremely difficult. But what speeds up the process is using a seed crystal on a string, and setting the string in the solution, like you're fishing. The crystal immediately begins to form on the seed crystal, growing much faster.
A guru's methods could be considered the seed crystal. Get my drift?
It's the same reason why you're at this forum. If you really didn't want to follow any body else in the affiliate marketing industry, you would simply work by yourself without consulting anyone else.
Following a guru to get started is not bad, but over time if you want to really succeed you will need to start adding your own twists. _________________ Robert

Heck, start something useful in the adsense or general forum. Or, here is an idea, just lurk and read once a week and take that time and 80/20 it. You know, do stuff that is profitable. _________________ Gekko Speaks-The spot where my alter ego rants and raps about business and internet strategy. |

Scotty,
You beat me to it. Mike, you yourself just started another topic on JM - your time would be much better spent asking a question on a relevant topic, your own choice, and see how many, like yourself, are just waiting for a "meaningful" topic to sink their teeth into.
There have been many such queries and brilliant answers here. I don't delete any and your searches should keep you entertained for hours. Just ignore those topics that don't interest you.

Mike, Here's a meaty topic to get your teeth into...
I've suggested 10 ways an average affiliate can improve his or her business.
Are affiliate programs the NOW thing or a thing of the past?

re point 1) in Allan's "10 ways"
If you are interested in becoming "the obvious expert" in a niche, this father and son duo have some great advice.
Buy the book and get access to a ton of MP3 audios from various gurus in each of the topics covered.
http://www.obvious-expert.com/index.html
Although aimed primarily at consultants and coaches, fits right in with building guru or expert status in a particular affiliate or even internet marketing niche.
And Elsom's description of the effect of a major health issue on his work and life purpose reminds me of Allan and his recovery. Kinda changes your perspective on a lot of things.
And all from a headache...
Maybe one day we can post to the effect "this mikedom thing" has gone on far too long - 1st came the ebooks, then the course , the teleconferences, the live seminars etc";-) |
