Post subject: Keyword density
|
|
|
| Hi, I read about james martell's book on the very first part regarding keyword density. He talks about primary keyword, tier-1 secondary keywords annd tier-2 secondary keywords. By lookng at his example, i still do not understand what he means by tier-2 secondary keywords. Does anyone here knows and care to share? |

primary exercise bikes
tier 1 stationary bikes
tier 2 proform, nordictrack, reebok
You don't have to use all the tier 2's,
only if they can appear naturally.
Hope that helps,

Oh the tier-2 is like brand names. Am i correct?
Another question, how do you determine which will be your primary and secondary words? |

Yeh, tier 2's can be brands, they usually
work better on product pages. Articles should
be more focused. I don't use tier 2's on articles.
Let's say your niche is snowboards.
You put that in wordtracker, you'll get
a list. Look at the top 5 to 10 highest
demand keywords that could be product
categories.
ex. snowboards, snowboard pants, snowboard goggles,
snowboard boots, snowboard helmets, etc
these can be product pages,
all the other keywords you write articles for,
each keyword is the primary keyword for that
article...
your secondary keyword can be the plural
of the primary keyword, or a very similar keyword,
for articles I just use a primary keyword and its
variations
Hope that helps,

I use Tier 2's on my product pages; and for good reason. Because of the structure of the site, the product pages generally have a higher PR than the article pages.
Adding in these other words on the product pages gives you a better chance of getting picked up for those as well in the results. _________________ Robert

I have not sign up for wordtracker yet. Does those tier-2 words appear in work tracker too in order to use them.. ( Sorry, i am really a beginner)
And if it does, what if those words that i want, do not appear in the list of wordtracker. FOr example, i want to sell snowboard gloves, but it does not appear in the list. Does that mean there is not much demand on the gloves and nobody or not much people search for that and i have to think of selling other items. |

Wordtracker will give you more than enough
words to choose from.
Wordtracker will not say here are the tier 2
keywords, you have to decide which tier 2's
makes sense for your website.
I don't know what you are selling but you
can also go to the merchants website and
write down all the brands related to what
you are selling.
ex. snowboards brands are sims, burton, lamar,
roxy etc. put the brand names in wordtracker
and you'll get a more targeted list.
Choose a day where you are free all day,
sign up for wordtracker for one day and try it.
You won't understand fully until you try.
Put in a product ex. snowboard pants, you'll
get a list, print it out.....
put in a brand, sims, get a list print it out,
make separate lists, easier to organize,
you can also use your own ideas.
Go for it....
11:40pm new york time

today made $30 bucks |

Learner Affiliate,
I was just trying to show you that it works.
I sense you thought I was bragging.
That was not my intention.
Good Luck. |

May I suggest before you start
with wordtracker, make a list
of the brands for your niche,
you can find them at the merchants
site, and product categories.
This way at wordtrack, you just plug
them in.
Also you may want to research keywords
for 3 sites at the same to get the most
out of wordtracker.
