You can use .htaccess for just about any kind of redirect link you want. Just be sure you do a default redirect (a 302 or Temporary) redirect. Don't use 301 (Permanent) redirect for your affiliate links. If you do, the search spiders will think your site permanently moved to that new location, and will remove you from the results. _________________ Eric D. Burdo

Where it gets tricky is when the company uses a tracking image in the link. You can't do those with .htaccess.
You can just use the URL link (ignore the image links) and that will credit you with the sale, but your tracking stats in LinkShare may not be accurate. _________________ Eric D. Burdo

That's pretty vague! Why don't you provide an example? _________________ Robert

Can you please clarify this a bit. I want to make sure I am doing this correctly. Here is the way I set mine up:
Say my content page is about refinancing your home, and I add an affiliate link to a lender. I create a page called refinance.html and then add the following line to my .htaccess file
Redirect /refinance.html http://merchant-site.com
This will then redirect anyone who clicks on my 'refinance' link to the merchant website.
Am I doing this correctly?
thanks! _________________ How to Make a Website

Yes. Since you didn't specify it as a permanent redirect (a 301) is defaults to a temporary redirect (a 302). And a temporary redirect is what you want.
Looks good... If you want a comment in your .htaccess file, prefix the line with a hash (#) symbol. Like this:
#LinkShare Affiliate Links
Redirect /refinance.html http://merchant-site.com _________________ Eric D. Burdo
