Jscott,

Yes the salt in the coffee is good. I understand right where you're coming from. I'm sure our talk -- to many --- is in a different tongue.

I find over analyzing sort of funny... the SE's are a master algo juggler with 100's of plates spinning. When our plate drops - there is crying and whining over the shattered pieces. ---- the key is to THROW ANOTHER PLATE IN THE AIR and get back in the juggling game.

The difference between the guru's and many other "web businesses"

Most wait for the guru's to bring the tablets down from the mountain with the answers - while guru continues to test , review and improve --- constantly improve.

that is so last 6 months ago.

So very true! Rolling Eyes

Many fall in love with their sites - their creation - their work.

When big algos sweep your stuff under the rug and you can plug in James Taylor and have that Pina alcohol substance and start building as you did yesterday with a tweak here or there.

Like a baseball player sliding into home plate and gets tagged out! The "guru's" get up -- brush themselves off -- and get ready to swing the bat again. Just like they did the last time at bat!

So goes website building!

sippppppppppp --- coffee is good!

Let's talk again in a week or so, I should have more results then.

All the Best,

Gary, that's a great line... I heard that once... with a twist...

You can sit there waiting for the Guru to come down
OR
you can stand up at the top of the mountain and say,
WOW! isn't the view great up here?

----
Despite what some may say about forums (i.e. staying out of them)... I've learned a lot from this forum and appreciate you all for being candid.

I've learned a great deal from this group - solved a few mysteries - and made some friends.

So, you might say this is one of my little mountains to climb... and the view here is pretty darn good.

Tablets indeed. And behold the messenger. Or fear him. If I remember the story right, and I do, 10 laws of concreteness or stone to be exact with the exact optimization for the people was given to said messenger. Right anchor text (only hyperlink your wife not your neighbor's and such like that), Many nots and shalls. Yet, the messenger saw what he though was a sliding of his sites and threw said optimization tablets down.

Fear the messenger for you no not how he rearranges the pieces.

I was suppose to be sleeping now as I told one caller today and one pm'er. I was not fibbing I just felt the need to once again call attention to the hand and not the cards.

And Andrea, you know Express Engine? I have grown tired of tweaking code.

More to the point, as I have stated many times earlier being banned does not equal no cashflow.

Watch the seasons. Watch the farmers. Pattern thyself. Plan, plant, harvest, then eat and eat less then you harvested and harvest less then you planted and in several cycles you will never need to plant again unless you are a psychotic DMS certified head job as myself who gets thrills from the juice of business.

Of interest to all this might be how Chris Rock gets his juice and substance for his routines. You might be suprised what he listens to and reads. Hint: it ain't a course on how to be funny.

Google has its way to find out if you are spamming with keywords, like very high keyword density, SE-optimizing with image alt text,etc..I learnt a lot about this from a newsletter by brad callen (SEOELITE)..I think you could learn from that too..I found it helpful.

Wow, it was a surprise to find this thread. Does anyone know which of JM's sites were banned? I want to be sure I don't create sites that look anything close to them. And I want to see what about the sites might have caused the bann. Sheesh.

defrag, most of his '1st-in' sites were banned by Google and many were penalized by Yahoo. I dont really pay much attention to his newer sites, but I did stumble on one that had a Yahoo penalty.

Dont worry about not looking like his sites. There is nothing wrong with the most basic of his principles - good on/off page optimization, etc. Avoid the fancy tricks, and you should be fine Smile
